The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching German language and related courses, developing engaging and learner-centred instructional practices, contributing to academic and co-curricular activities, and supporting the University's academic and research objectives.Key ResponsibilitiesTeach German language courses at undergraduate and/or postgraduate levels, as assigned.Prepare course plans, lesson materials, assessments, and other teaching resources.Deliver interactive, communicative, and student-centred German language instruction.Assess and monitor students' academic progress and provide constructive feedback.Develop students' proficiency in German language, including speaking, listening, reading, writing, grammar, and intercultural communication.Contribute to curriculum development, course design, and academic quality initiatives.Conduct and publish quality research in German Studies, language education, linguistics, literature, translation, intercultural studies, or related areas.Participate in seminars, conferences, workshops, guest lectures, and other academic activities.Mentor and guide students in academic projects and related activities.Organise and participate in German-language cultural and co-curricular events.Contribute to departmental, institutional, accreditation, and administrative responsibilities as required.Collaborate with faculty members and academic institutions for teaching, research, and international academic initiatives.Stay updated with contemporary developments and innovative approaches in German language teaching.Eligibility & QualificationsMaster's degree in German/German Studies or a relevant discipline from a recognised university, with a strong academic record.Ph.D. in German/German Studies or a closely related field will be preferred.Relevant teaching experience at a university/college or higher-education institution will be an advantage.Demonstrated proficiency in German; CEFR C1/C2 or equivalent proficiency is preferred.Candidates with experience in teaching German as a foreign language will be given preference.Evidence of research publications, conference participation, academic projects, or other scholarly contributions will be desirable.Familiarity with contemporary language-teaching methodologies and digital/technology-enabled learning is preferred.Desired Skills & CompetenciesExcellent written and spoken German and English communication skills.Strong classroom management and student-engagement abilities.Knowledge of communicative and task-based approaches to language teaching.Ability to design effective learning materials and assessments.Strong interpersonal, mentoring, and collaborative skills.Commitment to academic excellence, research, and continuous professional development.Ability to work effectively in a multicultural and interdisciplinary academic environment.
