Apply & track with Apply EdgeRole Description The Assistant Professor – HR role is a full-time, on-site academic position based at Amity University in the Greater Kolkata Area. The selected candidate will teach undergraduate and postgraduate courses in Human Resource Management and related domains, design and update syllabi, prepare lesson plans, and deliver engaging classroom and tutorial sessions. Day-to-day responsibilities include guiding student projects and dissertations, mentoring learners, conducting and supervising HR-related research, and contributing to publications and conferences. The role also involves participating in departmental meetings, curriculum development, academic administration, and quality assurance activities, as well as building links with industry for guest lectures, internships, and placements. The Assistant Professor is expected to uphold academic integrity, support institutional initiatives, and contribute to the overall development of the HR discipline within the university.QualificationsAdvanced academic background in Human Resource Management or related fields (e.g., MBA/PG in HR, PhD or enrolled in a doctoral program in HR/Management).Strong knowledge of core HR domains such as recruitment and selection, performance management, training and development, compensation and benefits, and labor laws.Demonstrated ability in teaching, curriculum design, student mentoring, and using modern pedagogical tools and learning technologies.Research aptitude with experience or interest in publishing in peer-reviewed journals, presenting at conferences, and participating in funded research or consultancy projects.Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a diverse academic environment.Prior teaching or industry experience in HR, corporate training, or organizational development will be an added advantage.Commitment to ethical practices, student-centered learning, continuous professional development, and alignment with the university’s values and academic standards.
