Assistant professor in Finance

Role Description This full-time, on-site Assistant Professor in Finance role is based at Plekhanov University in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. The role involves delivering undergraduate and/or postgraduate courses in finance and related fields, preparing syllabi, lectures, and assessment materials, and maintaining high academic and professional standards in teaching. The Assistant Professor will conduct original research, publish in peer-reviewed journals, and participate in academic conferences and seminars. Responsibilities include supervising student projects and theses, advising learners on academic progression, and contributing to curriculum development and program accreditation. The role also requires active participation in departmental meetings, committees, and university initiatives, while engaging with industry and professional networks to support applied learning and outreach.Qualifications Strong foundation in Finance and Corporate Finance, with the ability to teach and develop courses in these areas.Competence in Accounting and Economics to support interdisciplinary teaching and research.Proven Research skills, including designing studies, data analysis, and publishing in reputable academic journals.Relevant doctoral degree (PhD or equivalent) in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or a closely related discipline.Prior university-level teaching experience and evidence of effective classroom instruction.Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; additional language abilities are an advantage.Ability to collaborate with colleagues, mentor students, and contribute to departmental and institutional service.Familiarity with educational technologies, learning management systems, and innovative teaching methods.Strong ethical standards, commitment to diversity and inclusion, and willingness to engage with the local and international academic community.
