Apply & track with Apply EdgeJob Description (JD)Assistant Professor – Information Technology (IT)Department: Information Technology / Computer Science & EngineeringLocation: NoidaCompensation: Up to ₹40,000 per monthPosition OverviewThe Assistant Professor – Information Technology is responsible for delivering high-quality teaching, contributing to research and innovation, mentoring students, and supporting academic and administrative initiatives within the department. The role requires expertise in core IT subjects, active participation in curriculum enhancement, and a commitment to fostering an engaging learning environment.Key Roles and Responsibilities1. Teaching & LearningDeliver lectures, tutorials, laboratory sessions, and seminars for undergraduate and postgraduate programs.Develop lesson plans, course files, teaching materials, laboratory manuals, and assessment strategies in accordance with the prescribed curriculum.Incorporate innovative teaching methodologies, digital learning tools, and Learning Management Systems (LMS) to enhance student engagement.Design and evaluate assignments, quizzes, laboratory work, projects, presentations, and examinations.Foster critical thinking, problem-solving, and practical application of theoretical concepts.2. Academic ExpertiseThe faculty member should be capable of teaching one or more of the following subjects:Programming Languages (C, C++, Java, Python)Data Structures and AlgorithmsDatabase Management Systems (DBMS)Operating SystemsComputer NetworksSoftware EngineeringWeb TechnologiesCloud ComputingArtificial Intelligence and Machine LearningCybersecurityData ScienceInternet of Things (IoT)Mobile Application DevelopmentEmerging Technologies3. Research & Scholarly ActivitiesConduct quality research in Information Technology and related domains.Publish research articles in reputed peer-reviewed journals and international or national conferences.Prepare proposals for sponsored research, consultancy assignments, and collaborative projects.Guide undergraduate and postgraduate student projects, dissertations, and research activities.Promote innovation, interdisciplinary research, and technology-based solutions.4. Laboratory & Technical Resource ManagementOversee laboratory activities and ensure effective conduct of practical sessions.Maintain laboratory software, hardware, and networking infrastructure.Recommend upgrades to laboratory resources in line with curriculum requirements and technological advancements.Ensure compliance with laboratory safety practices and institutional policies.5. Student Development & MentoringMentor students in academics, career planning, internships, and higher education opportunities.Supervise final-year projects, mini projects, and research-based assignments.Encourage participation in coding competitions, hackathons, technical clubs, innovation challenges, and certification programs.Provide academic guidance and support to improve student performance and employability.6. Academic & Institutional ResponsibilitiesParticipate in curriculum development, syllabus revision, and outcome-based education initiatives.Contribute to departmental committees and institutional academic activities.Organize seminars, workshops, guest lectures, conferences, faculty development programmes (FDPs), and technical events.Support accreditation processes such as NBA, NAAC, and other quality assurance initiatives.Maintain academic records, documentation, and reports as required by the institution.Educational QualificationsB.E./B.Tech. in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a closely related discipline.M.E./M.Tech. in Information Technology, Computer Science, or an equivalent specialization with a minimum of 55% marks from a recognized university.Ph.D. in a relevant discipline is preferred or as prescribed by AICTE/UGC/institutional regulations.UGC-NET/SET/SLET qualification, wherever applicable.Prior teaching, research, or relevant industry experience will be an added advantage.Technical CompetenciesThe candidate should possess working knowledge of:Programming: C, C++, Java, PythonDatabase Systems: MySQL, Oracle, SQL ServerWeb Development: HTML, CSS, JavaScript, PHP, React, Node.jsCloud Platforms: AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud PlatformOperating Systems: Windows and LinuxVersion Control: Git and GitHubEmerging Technologies: Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Cybersecurity, DevOps, Data Analytics, IoTLearning Platforms: Moodle, Google Classroom, Microsoft Teams, or other LMS toolsDesired SkillsEffective communication and classroom presentation skills.Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving ability.Research orientation with a commitment to continuous learning.Ability to work collaboratively in multidisciplinary teams.Excellent organizational and time management skills.Student-centric approach with mentoring and leadership capabilities.Adaptability to evolving technologies and educational practices.
