Job Description for Faculty Hiring Jindal School of Government and Public Policy (JSGP)Level: Assistant Professor/LecturerO.P. Jindal Global University (JGU) is a top Indian university near Delhi. The Government of India has given JGU the status of an Institution of Eminence, an honour shared with only three other private universities.JGU offers a liberal research and teaching environment that enables faculty to teach and conduct socially aware, relevant research while continually pushing the frontiers of knowledge.Position Summary: The Jindal School of Government and Public Policy (JSGP) invites applications for the Assistant Professor/Lecturer positions. The positions are for the following specialisations:International TradeMacroeconomicsFinancial EconomicsPolicy-relevant research will be considered favourably in the selection process for the position.Roles and responsibilities:Faculty members are expected to follow the roles and responsibilities outlined below.Teaching and Advising: The primary responsibility of this position is to teach and advise university students in economics and public policy.Research: The position requires conducting high-quality research in economics and public policy, contributing to scholarship and practice in this field.Academic Administration: Successful candidates will be required to contribute to academic and institutional responsibilities, including service related to programme development and administration.Teaching Load: Appointees will be expected to teach graduate and undergraduate students both in residential and online programs. The teaching load will be commensurate with the appointment.Basic Qualification (Required at the time of Application)A PhD or equivalent degree in Economics is essential for the appointment to the position of Assistant Professor.
