Sona maintains close industry connections and a unique mentoring program in which industry experts collaborate with faculty and support students’ professional growth.Role Description The Assistant Professor – MCA will teach postgraduate courses in Computer Applications, deliver lectures, conduct lab sessions, and guide students in projects and research work. Responsibilities include designing and updating course materials, preparing lesson plans, evaluating assignments and examinations, and maintaining academic records. The role involves mentoring students, supporting co-curricular and departmental activities, and contributing to accreditation, quality assurance, and curriculum development initiatives. The Assistant Professor will also be expected to participate in research, publish scholarly work, engage with industry partners, and attend academic and professional development programs. This is a full-time, on-site position based at Sona College of Technology in Salem.Qualifications Postgraduate degree in Computer Applications (MCA) or related discipline; Ph.D. (completed or in progress) in a relevant area is preferred.Strong knowledge in core MCA subjects such as programming, data structures, databases, software engineering, and related emerging technologies.Demonstrated teaching aptitude, including lesson planning, classroom management, and the use of educational technologies and learning management systems.Research orientation with the ability to undertake projects, publish in peer-reviewed journals/conferences, and collaborate with industry and academic partners.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to mentor students and work effectively within diverse academic teams.Commitment to student-centered learning, ethical academic practices, and continuous professional development.Familiarity with accreditation standards, outcome-based education, and quality assurance processes will be an added advantage.
