Sponsored by the Medhavi Foundation—founded in 2012 by IIT alumni and a National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) partner—MSU impacts over 100,000 learners annually through its focus on skill development and education.Role Description The Assistant Professor – MCA/M.Tech (AI/ML), School of Computer Science, is a full-time, on-site role based in Gangtok. The role involves designing and delivering courses in Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, and related computer science subjects at postgraduate level, including preparing lesson plans, lectures, labs, and assessments. The faculty member will guide students in projects, research, and industry-oriented assignments, and support skills-based learning aligned with MSU’s employer-driven model. Day-to-day activities include mentoring students, evaluating performance, maintaining academic records, participating in curriculum development, and coordinating with industry partners for internships, apprenticeships, and applied learning. The role also includes engaging in academic research, departmental duties, and university initiatives to enhance teaching quality and institutional growth.Qualifications Postgraduate qualification such as MCA or M.Tech in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Data Science, or a closely related discipline.Strong knowledge of AI/ML fundamentals, algorithms, data structures, programming (e.g., Python, R, or similar languages), and relevant tools/frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch, scikit-learn).Experience or interest in curriculum design, outcome-based education, and integration of practical, skills-based components into academic programmes.Demonstrated ability to teach, mentor, and evaluate postgraduate students using clear communication, inclusive pedagogy, and effective classroom and lab management.Evidence of research aptitude or scholarly activity in AI/ML or computer science, such as publications, projects, or industry collaborations.Ability to collaborate with industry partners, support internships and apprenticeships, and align teaching with real-world applications.Strong organizational, time-management, and documentation skills, with proficiency in using digital tools and learning management systems for academic delivery.Commitment to continuous professional development
