Day-to-day responsibilities include delivering lectures, designing and updating course materials, mentoring students, supervising projects and dissertations, and conducting assessments in line with university standards. The role also involves engaging in academic research, publishing in reputable journals, participating in conferences, and contributing to curriculum development. The Assistant Professor will collaborate with colleagues on institutional initiatives, support student activities, and contribute to the overall academic environment at the department and university level. This is a full-time, on-site role based at JAIN (Deemed-to-be University) in Bengaluru.Qualifications Advanced academic preparation in Decision Science, Statistics, Operations Research, Data Analytics, or a closely related field (Ph.D. preferred; minimum of a relevant master’s degree required).Demonstrated expertise in quantitative analysis, modeling, and data-driven decision-making, with the ability to translate complex concepts into accessible classroom instruction.Experience in teaching at the university level, including course design, lecture delivery, student mentoring, and fair, transparent evaluation practices.Evidence of research potential or output in decision science or related domains, such as publications, conference presentations, or industry collaborations.Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a diverse, multicultural academic environment.Proficiency with relevant analytical tools and software (e.g., statistical packages, optimization tools, programming languages used in analytics) is highly beneficial.Commitment to ethical academic practices, continuous professional development, and fostering an inclusive learning experience for all students.Ability to engage in institutional service, collaborate on interdisciplinary initiatives, and support entrepreneurship, research, and industry outreach activities.
