Day-to-day responsibilities include preparing lesson plans, delivering lectures, guiding discussions, designing assessments, grading assignments and exams, and providing academic advising and mentorship to students. The role also involves contributing to syllabus design and program development, engaging in research and scholarly activities, and participating in departmental meetings, committees, and university events. The Assistant Professor is expected to foster an inclusive learning environment, support co-curricular activities related to English studies, and collaborate with colleagues on academic initiatives. This is a full-time, on-site role based at GLA University in Mathura.Qualifications Advanced academic preparation in English, such as a Master’s degree or PhD in English, English Literature, or a closely related discipline from a recognized institution.Strong teaching skills, including experience with lesson planning, classroom management, student engagement, and assessment design at the university level.Demonstrated scholarly interests in areas such as English literature, linguistics, cultural studies, communication, or related fields, with the ability to contribute to research and publications.Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, with the ability to explain complex concepts clearly and support diverse learners.Commitment to inclusive, learner-centered pedagogy and the use of appropriate educational technologies and tools for teaching and evaluation.Ability to work collaboratively with faculty, staff, and administration, and to participate in departmental and university service activities.Prior teaching or academic experience in higher education is highly desirable; familiarity with Indian university systems and regulations is an advantage.Demonstrated professionalism, ethical conduct, and willingness to contribute to the long-term academic development of the Department of English and the university.
