Position: Assistant Professor – Production & Operations Management Department: PGDM / Production & Operations Management Experience: Minimum 5 Years Qualification: Ph.D. in Production & Operations Management / Operations Management / Supply Chain Management / Industrial Engineering / Management or a closely related discipline Location: New DelhiAbout the RoleWe are looking for an experienced and academically accomplished Assistant Professor – Production & Operations Management to join our PGDM faculty team. The candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality classroom teaching, mentoring students, developing industry-oriented learning experiences, and contributing to research and academic development.Key ResponsibilitiesDeliver engaging and application-oriented courses in Production & Operations Management, Supply Chain Management and related areas for PGDM students.Teach subjects such as:Production & Operations ManagementOperations StrategySupply Chain ManagementLogistics & Distribution ManagementQuality ManagementProject ManagementInventory & Materials ManagementLean ManagementService OperationsProcurement & SourcingOperations AnalyticsIndustry 4.0 and Smart ManufacturingDevelop course content, teaching plans, case studies, simulations, projects and experiential learning activities.Use relevant tools and techniques for operations planning, forecasting, inventory management, quality control and process optimization.Guide students in live projects, industry projects, dissertations and research projects.Integrate technology, automation, AI, analytics and Industry 4.0 concepts into operations-related teaching wherever relevant.Mentor students and support their academic and professional development.Undertake research and publish papers in quality national/international journals and conferences.Contribute to institutional research, consultancy, academic collaborations and knowledge-development initiatives.Participate in academic committees, workshops, seminars, conferences and other institutional activities.Develop strong industry-academia linkages and facilitate industry projects, guest lectures, plant visits and corporate interactions.Desired Skills & CompetenciesStrong conceptual and practical knowledge of Production & Operations Management and Supply Chain Management.Knowledge of Operations Strategy, Supply Chain, Logistics, Quality Management, Lean Management and Project Management.Understanding of forecasting, capacity planning, inventory management, production planning and process optimization.Familiarity with Operations Analytics, ERP systems, Industry 4.0, automation and AI applications in operations.Excellent teaching, presentation and communication skills.Ability to translate complex operations concepts into practical business applications.Strong research orientation with demonstrated publications.Ability to mentor and guide PGDM students on industry-oriented operations projects.Willingness to adopt innovative and technology-enabled teaching methodologies.EligibilityPh.D. is mandatory from a recognized university/institution in a relevant discipline.Minimum 5 years of teaching/academic experience, preferably in Management/PGDM/MBA institutions.Candidates with relevant industry experience in Operations, Supply Chain, Manufacturing or Logistics will be preferred.Candidates with a strong record of research publications, consultancy, certifications and industry projects will be given preference.Key AttributesAcademically Strong | Industry-Oriented | Research-Focused | Technology-Savvy | Student-CentricHow to ApplyInterested candidates may send their updated CV to:academics@immindia.comPlease mention the subject line:Application for Assistant Professor – Production & Operations Management
