Team members gain exposure to multiple formats of hospitality, from day-to-day hotel operations to large-scale events and resort management.Role Description The Assistant Purchase Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in Chennai. This position supports end-to-end purchasing activities, including sourcing vendors, obtaining quotations, comparing prices, and placing orders for hotel, restaurant, catering, and event requirements. The role involves monitoring inventory levels, coordinating with operations and finance teams, ensuring timely delivery of materials, and maintaining accurate purchase records and documentation. The Assistant Purchase Manager will help negotiate with suppliers, track quality and cost performance, and follow company policies and compliance standards to optimize procurement efficiency.Qualifications Experience in procurement or purchasing within hospitality, retail, or related industries, with a solid understanding of vendor management and inventory control.Skills in basic cost analysis, price comparison, and negotiation to secure competitive rates and favorable terms from suppliers.Ability to maintain accurate purchase documentation, use spreadsheets or procurement software, and coordinate effectively with operations, finance, and stores teams.Strong organizational and time-management skills, with attention to detail and the ability to handle multiple purchase requests and deadlines.Good communication skills and the ability to build and maintain professional relationships with internal stakeholders and external suppliers.Knowledge of hospitality products and services (hotel supplies, F&B items, catering equipment, event materials) is an advantage.Relevant diploma or degree in Business, Supply Chain, Hospitality Management, or a related field preferred.Prior experience in a hotel, restaurant group, catering company, or hospitality chain in a purchasing or stores role will be considered an added benefit.
