Assistant Web Development Manager

The Role We're seeking a hands-on Assistant Web Development Manager to lead our engineering team through technical excellence, mentorship, and direct contribution. This is a technical leadership role where you'll spend the majority of your time building, architecting, and solving complex technical challenges alongside the team, while guiding technical decisions, mentoring engineers, and ensuring high-quality delivery. Key Responsibilities- Plan, architect, build, and deploy features- Lead the day-to-day execution of the web development team- Review code and maintain high engineering standards across the team- Work closely with the business, act as an initial point of contact for engineering questions and guidance- Drive sprint planning, sprint reviews, and day-to-day technical alignment - Mentor developers through technical guidance and regular feedback- Troubleshoot complex technical issues across websites and internal systems.- Improve website speed, scalability, security, and overall performance.- Oversee and improve our AWS stack.Experience & Qualifications - Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.- Experience: 8 to 12+ years in software engineering; 3 to 5 years in a technical leadership role.Technical Skills- Backend Development: Strong experience building scalable APIs and services with Node.js (Nest.js, Express.js) including REST, GraphQL and real-time communication using WebRTC.- Frontend Frameworks & Libraries: Expert proficiency in React.js, Next.js and TypeScript, with hands-on experience in state management using Redux, RTK, Context API and Zustand. - Core Programming: Excellent command of JavaScript (ES6+), HTML, CSS, jQuery and responsive design, along with Linux Bash scripting for automation.- Databases: Hands-on experience with MongoDB, PostgreSQL, MySQL and MS SQL Server.- Cloud Infrastructure: Practical experience with AWS services (EC2, S3, CloudFront, IAM, Cognito, SQS, SNS).- DevOps & CI/CD: Proficiency with Git, GitHub and GitLab, building CI/CD pipelines with GitHub Actions, and Infrastructure as Code using AWS CDK and CloudFormation.- Containerization & Serverless: Experience with Docker and ECS, and serverless development using AWS Lambda.- Testing & Quality Assurance: Experience with unit, integration and end-to-end testing using Jest, Cypress and Puppeteer, and API testing with Postman.- Build & Tooling: Experience configuring and optimizing builds with Webpack, Vite and Babel, and managing packages with Yarn and NPM.- Performance & Monitoring: Experience optimizing web performance using Lighthouse, Core Web Vitals, Chrome DevTools and bundle analyzer tools.- Methodologies & Collaboration: Experience working in Agile/Scrum teams using Jira and Confluence, with a strong grasp of SOLID principles, project planning, team mentoring and stakeholder communication.
