Apply & track with Apply EdgePosition Summary The Associate Applications Engineer supports lighting fixture specification and project execution, taking direct ownership of assigned projects while working within a collaborative team environment where senior engineers provide guidance and review on more complex engagements. This role is responsible for managing customer lighting projects end-to-end, including takeoffs, bills of materials, and AutoCAD submittal packages, with the expectation of growing independence over time. The Associate Applications Engineer will also field technical questions on lighting products and specifications, assist with documentation, and contribute to overall customer success.ResponsibilitiesOwn and manage assigned customer projects independently from start to finish, with senior review available on more complex engagementsBuild and maintain bills of materials for lighting projects, independently on owned accounts with senior oversight on larger or more complex jobsDevelop lighting submittal packages in AutoCAD, including drawings and documentation for customer sign-off and approval, with senior review available as neededRespond to lighting customer technical inquiries, troubleshoot issues, and escalate complex cases as neededPrepare and deliver product demonstrations and proof-of-concept setups, independently on assigned accountsSupport the configuration, testing, and deployment of productsDevelop and update technical documentation including user guides, FAQs, and application notesReproduce and document customer-reported issues, and work with engineering teams to facilitate resolutionParticipate in customer meetings and calls, taking a lead role on owned projectsReview purchase orders, fixture schedules, and drawings to perform material takeoffs and convert them into bills of materials, owning this process on assigned projectsContinuously build product and domain knowledge through training, self-study, and shadowing senior team membersContribute to team knowledge base and internal resourcesQualificationsBachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Sales, or a related technical field strongly preferred1-2 years of professional experience in a technical role; internship or co-op experience counts toward this requirementFundamental understanding of engineering principles and a demonstrated ability to learn technical subject matter quicklyBasic familiarity with scripting, software configuration, or integration conceptsClear and professional written and verbal communication skillsOrganized and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage task queues with guidance from senior staffPreferred QualificationsFamiliarity with lighting controls, dimming systems, or fixture specification softwareProficient in Microsoft Excel and AutoCAD; experience with Bluebeam is a plusFamiliarity with CRM and project management platforms such as NetSuite and AsanaExposure to customer support, technical writing, or lab/testing environments
