Team members benefit from the broader resources and support of the Azzurro Associates group while contributing to a growing, client-focused practice.Role Description The Associate will work full time in a hybrid capacity, based in the Manchester Area, United Kingdom, with some work from home permitted. Day-to-day responsibilities include managing a caseload of asset based lending / debt recovery matters, drafting legal documents and correspondence, and preparing files for negotiation, settlement, or litigation. The role involves liaising with clients, external stakeholders, and internal teams to progress cases efficiently and in line with regulatory requirements. The Associate will review case information, assess legal options, provide clear advice to clients, and help maintain accurate records and case management system updates. Participation in team meetings, contributing to process improvements, and supporting colleagues with complex cases are also part of the role.Qualifications Legal knowledge and experience in debt recovery, civil litigation, or consumer law, with the ability to manage a structured caseload.Strong drafting skills for legal documents, letters before action, court forms, and client correspondence.Effective communication skills, including clear written and verbal communication with clients and colleagues.Good organizational and time-management skills, with attention to detail and the ability to prioritize multiple matters.Proficiency with case management systems and standard office software (e.g., MS Office, email, document management tools).Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a hybrid environment, maintaining professionalism and confidentiality.Relevant legal qualification (such as a law degree, LPC/SQE pathway, or equivalent experience); prior experience in a law firm or in-house legal team is beneficial.Awareness of regulatory and compliance standards relevant to debt recovery and consumer protection; commitment to ethical, inclusive, and non-discriminatory practice.
