Employment Type: Full-TimeSummary:Reporting to the Dean of Healthcare, this role serves as a member of the management team.

The Associate Dean of Education will be responsible for administrative, curriculum, mentoring tasks, and teaching responsibilities with an emphasis on overall program success. The Associate Dean of Education will handle a variety of strategic tasks, including departmental and company goals.Management Tasks:Conduct hiring, onboarding, and on-going training a of faculty in the Health Information Technology and Health Information Management programsDevelop and manage the Health Information Technology and Health Information Management programs including foster cohesiveness between instructors, encourage instructor feedback to improve training programs, and promote the exchange of ideas, concepts, and teaching techniques that are specific to individual training programsAssisting the Dean of Healthcare with completing the CAHIIM Annual Program Assessment Report (APAR)Being a mentor to new instructors assigned to the Health Information Technology and Health Information Management programsWork with the Dean of Healthcare in conducting periodic program review and maintaining appropriate assessment records. Review and follow up with instructor and programmatic surveys and assessments while analyzing and sharing this data with faculty and staffAccomplish departmental objectives by managing assigned instructorsProvide growth opportunities and maintain a motivated and professional team by assisting with recruiting, selecting, orienting, coaching, and training employeesCoach and counsel employees in partnership with HR, the Dean of Healthcare and the VP of EducationEnsure a safe, secure, and ethical work environmentManage and enforce timekeeping policies to ensure accuracy and timely process of employee’s timecardsMaintain quality service by enforcing customer service standards, analyzing, and resolving quality and customer service problems, and recommending improvementsEmbody CIAT’s mission, vision, purpose and values.Must support and be a champion to the goals of the departmentProgram Success:Responsible for the overall success of the Health Information Technology and Health Information Management programs including:Graduation and placement ratesProgram retention ratesCertification take and pass ratesMaintain compliance with accreditation related to instruction and the quality of educationResponsible for analyzing and developing new metrics for programs, as neededAdministrative Tasks:Conduct formal and informal classroom observations and in coordination with the Dean of Healthcare, plan on-going faculty development/trainingResponsible for the organization, continuous review, planning, development, and general effectiveness of the programWork with the Dean of Healthcare and VP of Education to develop and revise programs to continually enhance quality of education and to maintain consistency with CIAT’s mission and goalsProcess timely, accurate, fair, without bias, performance reviews. Conduct timecard review to ensure that all submitted by instructors is accurateCurriculum Development Tasks:Oversee curriculum development and delivery, ensuring content remains current, relevant, and aligned with academic and industry standardsMaintain currency of curriculum, syllabi, textbooks, and CanvasReview training material/deliverables and provide recommendations on the accuracy of and relevancy of content of curriculumResponsible for the selection and development of instructional materials in accordance with course objectivesTeaching Responsibilities:Available to teach live online and asynchronously as neededAvailable to provide coverage when neededCurrent certification(s) in subjects taughtPlan and organize instruction in ways that maximize online student learning and engagementModify, where appropriate, instructional methods and strategies to meet diverse student’s needsEmploy appropriate teaching and learning strategies to communicate subject matter to studentsStay current in their subject matter through professional development, through involvement in professional organizations, and attending professional meetings, conferences, or workshopsQualificationsMaster’s degree required, preferably in Health Informatics, Healthcare Administration, or a related fieldRequired Industry Certifications: RHIA2-3 years of management experience, ideally in a higher education settingCurriculum development experience requiredAdvanced subject matter expertise preferredCanvas experience preferredAble to work a 40-hour plus workweek, if needed, depending on schedule and coverageSelf-motivated with a strong work ethic; dedicated to quality, quantity, and timeliness of resultsAble to handle sensitive information with a high degree of confidentialityPossess high ethical standards, being an example of professionalism to othersDemonstrated ability anticipate needs and exercise independent judgmentExcellent analytical skills, problem resolution skills and general business acumenMust have a focus in data and metrics in decision making, monitoring and managing prioritiesGood working knowledge of MS Office applications including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint as well as learning technologies such as Canvas and Microsoft TeamsExhibits a high degree of flexibility in adapting to a rapidly changing environmentDetail oriented, outstanding research and analytical skillsProblem solve rapidly and effectively, in a timely mannerAbility and organization to multitaskWorks with a sense of urgency, while engaging and listening to coworkers from other departmentsPosition may require work responsibilities outside of normal business hours to accommodate business needs and deadlinesReliable transportation to go on campus, attend seminars/trainings, if requiredAbility to work collaboratively with colleagues, academic departments, and administration to support student success, achieve institutional goals and contribute to a positive and inclusive cultureCommitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment that respects the diversity of students' backgrounds, experiences, and perspectivesKnowledge of current trends, best practices, and didactic approaches in higher educationDemonstrated ability to deliver engaging and effective lesson plans that meet the diverse needs of studentsStrong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to effectively convey information and interact with students, colleagues, and othersCompliance with all college policies, procedures, and regulations, including those related to academic integrity, student conduct, and instructional deliveryMust be able to embody CIAT’s mission, vision, purpose and valuesValuesValues such as integrity, excellence, customer service, teamwork and mutual respect are some of those that remain constant, regardless of changes in our company. Work must be conducted in locations that have been approved by the company. Company authorization is necessary for relocation or work from other locations, even if temporarily.Position Type and Expected Hours of WorkThis is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday-Thursday: 10:00am-7:00pm PST and Friday: 8:00am-5:00pm PST, including weekend hours. If teaching a class on Monday/Tuesday, the schedule will be 12:30 p.m.–9:30 p.m. PST.
