Team members join a collaborative practice that prioritizes patient experience, clinical excellence, and community service.Role Description The Associate Dentist role is a full-time, on-site position based in Truro, NS, supporting a busy, family-oriented practice. Day-to-day responsibilities include performing comprehensive examinations, diagnosing dental conditions, and delivering preventive, restorative, and cosmetic treatments such as fillings, crowns, extractions, and prosthodontic services. The Associate Dentist will provide clear treatment planning and patient education, ensuring individuals understand their options and feel comfortable with recommended care. The role involves collaborating with dental hygienists, assistants, and administrative staff to maintain efficient clinic workflows and uphold infection control and safety standards. The Associate Dentist is also expected to maintain accurate clinical documentation, support participation in programs such as CDCP, and contribute to a positive, respectful work environment.Qualifications Valid DDS/DMD degree from an accredited dental school and eligibility for licensure with the provincial dental regulatory authority in Nova Scotia.Demonstrated clinical competence in general dentistry, including diagnosis, treatment planning, restorative procedures, basic oral surgery, and preventive care.Commitment to patient-centered care, with strong communication and interpersonal skills to explain treatment options and build trust with individuals and families.Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team, contributing to an inclusive, respectful, and safety-focused clinic environment.Strong attention to detail and proficiency in charting, record keeping, and use of dental practice management and digital imaging systems.Interest in continuing education, staying current with best practices, technology, and evolving standards in dentistry.Experience with or willingness to support patients covered under public programs such as the Canadian Dental Care Plan (CDCP) is an asset.Previous experience in a family or community dental clinic setting is preferred but not required; new graduates are welcome to apply.
