Company Description The Old Grammar School Dental Surgery is an independent dental practice with over 30 years of experience supporting the oral health needs of individuals and families. Preventive dentistry is at the heart of its approach, focusing on helping patients avoid dental problems rather than only treating issues once they arise. Team members work collaboratively to provide a welcoming environment and long-term continuity of care for the local community.Role Description This is a part-time, on-site Associate Dentist role based in Cambridge. The Associate Dentist will provide a full range of general dental services, including examinations, diagnosis, treatment planning, and routine restorative and preventive care. Day-to-day responsibilities include performing clinical procedures, maintaining accurate and timely patient records, and communicating clearly with patients about treatment options and oral health education. The role involves working closely with the wider clinical team to ensure safe, evidence-based care, adherence to regulatory and infection control standards, and a high level of patient satisfaction. The Associate Dentist will contribute to practice growth by fostering positive patient relationships and supporting the practice’s preventive-focused ethos.Qualifications Recognized dental degree and current registration with the General Dental Council (GDC), with eligibility to practice in the UK.Strong clinical skills in general dentistry, including examinations, diagnosis, restorative treatments, and preventive care.Knowledge of current evidence-based dental practices, infection control protocols, and relevant regulatory requirements.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain treatment options clearly and build trust with patients of all ages.Ability to work collaboratively within a dental team, demonstrating reliability, professionalism, and respect for colleagues and patients.Competence in using dental practice management and clinical software, with accurate record-keeping and attention to detail.Commitment to ongoing professional development, including participation in CPD activities and openness to feedback and learning.Previous experience in family-focused or community dental practice is beneficial but not essential.
