Associate Director – Business Continuity & Operational Resilience

This is an exciting opportunity to expand your skill set, achieve job satisfaction and work-life balance.ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES:Lead and coordinate the Business Continuity Management (BCM) lifecycle across global and local/country operations, including risk assessment, business impact analysis, BCP/DR planning, validation, testing and reporting.Develop, maintain and enhance Business Continuity Plans (BCP), Disaster Recovery Plans (DRP) and resilience frameworks in line with group policies and regulatory requirements.Coordinate Business Continuity and Operational Resilience activities, including Service Impact Assessments, impact tolerance, critical service mapping and scenario testing.Facilitate and support crisis and incident management activities, including P1/P2 incidents, Incident Management Teams (IMT), Incident Response Teams (IRT) and Crisis Management Committees.Monitor emerging operational, environmental, geopolitical and other risks that may impact business operations and coordinate appropriate mitigation measures.Plan and conduct BCM exercises and simulations, including DR testing, work-from-home exercises, contact exercises and tabletop exercises.Drive post-incident reviews, identify lessons learned and work with Business and IT teams to implement remediation and resilience improvements.Identify gaps in business/application resilience capabilities and coordinate resolution through risk acceptance, workarounds or enhancement initiatives.Monitor BCM key indicators, outstanding audit/regulatory findings and prepare management reports and governance updates.Support new activities/new products (NAP) and business change initiatives from a BCM and operational resilience perspective.Support client due diligence activities, including written responses and client-facing BCM presentations.Develop and maintain country-level Crisis Management documentation, procedures and exercises to manage operational and reputational risks.Create employee awareness on business continuity, crisis preparedness and preventive/mitigating measures through communication and awareness initiatives.Collaborate with Business, IT, Operations, Risk, Regional teams, Executive stakeholders and BCM 2LOD teams to strengthen organisational resilience.Support global BCM coverage and crisis events during Malaysia business hours.Co-manage a User Access Management team of approximately 5 employees, including resource planning, performance management, development plans and team effectiveness.Manage the allocated cost-centre budget, ensuring effective resource utilisation and adherence to budget.RequirementsBachelor’s degree or equivalent in a relevant discipline.Minimum 10+ years of relevant experience in Business Continuity Management, Operational Resilience, Risk Management or a related function, preferably within the financial services/banking industry.Strong hands-on experience with BCP, DRP, Business Impact Analysis (BIA), crisis management and resilience testing.Good understanding of business processes, technology, operational risks and organisational structures.Experience in incident management, preferably handling P1/P2 incidents and coordinating cross-functional response teams.Strong knowledge of risk identification, assessment, mitigation, monitoring and reporting.Experience working with regulatory requirements and operational resilience frameworks.Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to work effectively with senior management, business teams, IT, risk and regional/global stakeholders.Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present complex BCM and risk matters clearly to senior management and clients.Strong analytical, facilitation, change management and communication planning skills.Experience managing or leading teams, with good people-management and performance-management skills.Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities and respond effectively to unexpected incidents or changing circumstances.Strong collaboration, influencing and problem-solving skills, with the ability to build relationships across functions and locations.WHAT’S ON OFFERYou will be remunerated with an excellent base salary and entitled to attractive company benefits.
