We are seeking someone with an established network within the South Australian construction, infrastructure and energy sectors who can combine technical expertise with business development and client relationship management. Relocation applications will not be considered.The OpportunityThis is more than a technical consulting role.As Associate Director, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality commercial advisory services while helping grow CDI Experts' presence throughout South Australia.We're looking for an experienced quantity surveyor, commercial manager or contracts manager who has built strong relationships within the Adelaide market and enjoys developing new business, mentoring people and working directly with senior clients.The successful candidate will become CDI Experts' senior representative in Adelaide, supported by our national team, with genuine autonomy to help build the local business.Key ResponsibilitiesYou will:Lead the delivery of commercial, quantity surveying and contract advisory services across major projects.Provide commercial advice throughout the project lifecycle, from procurement through to final account.Prepare and review cost plans, estimates, budgets, forecasts and commercial reports.Administer contracts and advise clients on contractual obligations, commercial strategy and risk.Assess and negotiate variations, progress claims, extensions of time and contractual claims.Support dispute avoidance and dispute resolution through practical commercial advice.Review project commercial performance and identify risks and improvement opportunities.Manage client commissions and ensure high-quality project delivery.Build long-term relationships with contractors, developers, consultants and government clients.Identify new business opportunities and contribute to proposals, tenders and client presentations.Mentor junior consultants and help grow CDI Experts' South Australian team.Work collaboratively with CDI Experts' national and international specialists on major commissions.About YouYou are an experienced commercial professional with a background in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management or Contract Management and have established yourself within the South Australian construction industry.You understand the Adelaide market, have built trusted relationships over many years and enjoy helping clients solve commercial problems.You're equally comfortable leading a commercial review, meeting with a client, developing new opportunities or mentoring younger professionals.Most importantly, you're someone who wants to help build something rather than simply fill a role.Qualifications & ExperienceTo be successful you will have:Be permanently based in Adelaide with unrestricted Australian working rights.10+ years' experience in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management or Contract Administration.Experience on major construction, infrastructure, energy, defence, mining or industrial projects.Strong knowledge of procurement, contract administration and commercial management.Experience managing variations, claims, extensions of time, payment claims and final accounts.Excellent understanding of Australian standard forms of contract.Strong commercial acumen with the ability to provide practical and balanced advice.Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.Experience leading teams and managing client relationships.A well-established network across the South Australian construction industry with demonstrated business development capability.Relevant tertiary qualifications in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Engineering, Law or a related discipline.Professional membership with AIQS, RICS or similar will be highly regarded.What We OfferAt CDI Experts, you'll have the opportunity to play a genuine leadership role within a growing consultancy.We offer:A senior leadership position with autonomy to grow the Adelaide business and supported by a high performing BD teamThe opportunity to help shape CDI Experts' South Australian strategy.Exposure to major infrastructure, energy, defence and industrial projects.A mix of consulting, commercial advisory and business development.Support from an experienced national and international team.A flexible and entrepreneurial working environment.Competitive salary, performance incentives and genuine career progression.
