Role OverviewKPMG Middle East is seeking an experienced Associate Director or Director to join its growing Transport & Logistics practice. The successful candidate will play a leadership role in delivering strategic advisory engagements, developing client relationships, supporting business development activities, and contributing to the continued growth of the practice across the Middle East.The role offers the opportunity to work with government entities, transport authorities, public transport operators, logistics providers, ports, maritime organizations and infrastructure investors on some of the region's most significant transport and logistics transformation initiatives.Key ResponsibilitiesClient DeliveryLead strategy, transformation and operational improvement engagements across the transport and logistics sector.Manage multidisciplinary consulting teams and ensure high-quality project delivery.Advise senior government officials and executives on sector development, governance, operating models, transformation programs and performance improvement initiatives.Oversee project governance, quality assurance and client relationship management.Present findings and recommendations to executive committees and senior stakeholders.Develop practical and implementable strategies, target operating models and transformation roadmaps.Business DevelopmentBuild and maintain relationships with key transport and logistics sector stakeholders.Identify and pursue consulting opportunities across the Middle East.Lead proposal development, client presentations and commercial discussions.Support account management and revenue growth initiatives.Contribute to thought leadership and market visibility activities.Practice DevelopmentSupport the growth of KPMG's Transport & Logistics practice.Monitor market trends and regulatory developments across the sector.Develop sector-focused methodologies, tools and intellectual property.Represent KPMG at industry conferences, forums and client events.Team LeadershipCoach and mentor managers, consultants and analysts.Support recruitment, people development and performance management activities.Foster a collaborative and high-performance culture.Contribute to knowledge sharing across regional and global KPMG networks.Preferred Sector ExperienceThe successful candidate should demonstrate expertise in one or more of the following areas:Public Transport & MobilityPublic transport strategyBus sector transformationRail sector advisoryIntegrated transport planningMobility policy and regulationService planning and network optimizationCustomer experience and service transformationLogisticsNational logistics strategiesTrade facilitationSupply chain transformationLogistics zone developmentFreight and distribution optimizationLogistics operating modelsEconomic development and competitiveness initiativesPorts & MaritimePort strategy and master planningPort operating modelsMaritime sector transformationShipping and logistics integrationPort performance improvementMaritime policy and regulatory reformTransport Sector DevelopmentTransport governance and institutional reformRegulatory frameworksSector strategies and roadmapsPerformance management and KPI frameworksCommercial and financial assessmentsPublic-private partnership advisoryQualifications & ExperienceAssociate Director10-14 years of professional experience.Experience within a leading consulting firm (Big Four, Tier 1 or specialist consultancy).Strong experience delivering advisory projects within transport, logistics, ports, maritime, rail or public transport sectors.Demonstrated project leadership and client management capabilities.Track record of managing multidisciplinary teams and multiple workstreams.Director14+ years of professional experience.Strong consulting and business development track record.Established network within government, transport and logistics sectors.Proven ability to originate, sell and lead complex consulting engagements.Experience managing major client accounts and large multidisciplinary teams.EducationBachelor's degree from a reputable university.Master's degree preferred.Qualifications in transport planning, logistics, engineering, economics, business administration or related disciplines are advantageous.Relevant professional certifications are a plus.Skills & CompetenciesStrong strategic and analytical thinking.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Strong stakeholder management and executive presence.Business development and commercial acumen.Team leadership and people development capabilities.Experience working with government entities and senior executives.Ability to operate effectively in a multicultural environment.Ideal Candidate ProfileThe ideal candidate is a Senior Manager, Associate Director or Director from a leading consulting firm with significant experience serving transport, logistics, public transport, rail, ports or maritime clients. Candidates from industry backgrounds with substantial consulting experience and strong commercial capabilities will also be considered.The successful candidate is expected to play an active role in both client delivery and business development, supporting the continued growth of KPMG Middle East's Transport & Logistics practice.
