The Association of Independent Schools and Colleges in Alberta’s mandate is to promote and empower independent schools in Alberta. AISCA serves as the voice of independent schools and Early Childhood Services operators, representing over 200 members and more than 56,000 students. The Associate Executive Director (Public Affairs & Government Relations) provides senior leadership for AISCA’s advocacy, government relations, media engagement, and external stakeholder work. This role reports to the Executive Director. Key Focus AreasLead AISCA’s government relations, advocacy, and public affairs strategyServe as AISCA’s primary spokesperson with government, media, and external stakeholdersBuild and maintain relationships with MLAs, Ministers, senior officials, and municipal leadersRepresent AISCA in consultations, advocacy forums, and sector partnershipsOversee public communications, media relations, and issues managementSupport and strengthen member advocacy effortsConduct external environmental scanning and advise the Executive Director on emerging risks and opportunitiesIs involved in strategic planning, staff leadership, and organizational risk managementOversee the management and reporting of various grant related deliverablesQualifications:·        Experience in government relations, advocacy, public affairs, or political strategy·        Strong understanding of public policy and stakeholder engagement·        Proven leadership, communication, and relationship-building skills·        Experience in education or the not-for-profit sector is an assetEmployment DetailsLocation: Edmonton officeStart Date: Negotiable; when filledFTE: Full-time Salary: $125,000–$140,000, commensurate with experience and FTEBenefits: RRSP matching and comprehensive benefitsTo Apply:Submit your resume to office@aisca.ab.ca.
