Associate – Fund Regulatory & Business Development (India/GIFT City)UAE (Abu Dhabi/Dubai) | Regular travel to IndiaAbout the roleAn ADGM-regulated asset manager is expanding into India through a new fund management entity (FME) in GIFT City, alongside a growing UAE funds business. We're hiring an associate to support both. About half the role is regulatory documentation and compliance. The other half is building distribution relationships across India. You will also act as interim compliance officer of the GIFT City FME until a full-time officer is appointed.You'll report directly to the COO on operations and compliance, and to the CEO on business development.What you'll doIndia and GIFT City: regulatory and complianceSupport the FME incorporation and IFSCA registration, including applications, documentation and regulator correspondenceAct as interim compliance officer of the FME, covering filings, policies, monitoring and reportingCoordinate with Indian legal counsel, trustees, administrators and auditorsTrack IFSCA and SEBI developments relevant to the businessIndia: business developmentMap and approach national and regional distributors, wealth managers and asset managersArrange and attend senior-level meetings, and manage selected distributor relationshipsPrepare pitch materials, follow up and complete distributor onboardingMaintain the distribution pipeline and report on progressUAE: funds platform and feeder fundsManage documentation for onboarding third-party fund managers to our funds platformPrepare fund setup documentation with legal counsel and service providersSupport offering documents and master-feeder documentation for feeder fundsHandle onboarding paperwork with UAE distributor banksWhat you'll bring+3 years (minimum) at an Indian trustee company, AMC, AIF, fund administrator or regulated financial institution, with hands-on fund documentation and compliance experienceA qualification (e.g. CS, law degree, CA or equivalent) that makes you eligible as compliance officer of a GIFT City FME under the IFSCA (Fund Management) RegulationsWorking knowledge of the GIFT City/IFSCA framework and SEBI regulationsAn existing network among Indian distributors, wealth managers or asset managersExcellent drafting, organisation and attention to detailWillingness to be UAE-based and travel to India regularlyA likeable personality with a high level of emotional intelligenceNice to haveExposure to UAE fund regimes (ADGM/FSRA, DIFC/DFSA, SCA)Experience with feeder funds, fund platforms or cross-border fund distributionIFSCA-specified certificationsUAE funds experience is a plus, not a requirement.
