Organization Unit PurposeThe Investment Banking platform (“IB Platform”) provides both conventional and Islamic finance investment banking services, advising on and arranging a wide variety of transactions including: Loan Syndications – Arranging & BookrunningDCM (Bonds / Sukuk) - Arranging & BookrunningEquity – Equity Advisory, Public & Private Placement, M&A advisory, IPOsThe IB platform was set up as part of a strategic initiative to diversify the Group’s revenue base by generating additional fee income from advisory/structuring and placement activities. Job PurposeRole of an Associate:Work in close conjunction with the Coverage team to assist in origination of IB transactions Work in close conjunction with the Managing Director / Director to execute DCM transactionsLead the drafting of pitch books, prospectus, term sheets and market updates. Be extensively involved in transaction documentation.Act as a project manager on live transactionJob ContentOrigination Market research, drafting pitch books, FAs Work closely with relationship teams to help prepare pitchbooks, RFP responses to help secure new clients / mandates Follow up on initial origination discussions. Ensure minutes and updates are maintained to allow effective follow-up and knowledge transfer.Monitor primary market conditions, comparable transactions, and issuer/sector trends across GCC and international credit markets to inform origination strategyExecutionProject manage different steps of a live transaction from mandate signing to launch and closingExtensive liaison with client, auditors, legal counsels Shariah scholars and partner banks involved in transactionWork on financial, structuring and documentation aspectsCoordinate with syndicate desk on deal launch, timing, and execution once mandatedAdherence to compliance requirementsAttention to detail, and awareness of regulation and internal/external rules and guidelines to ensure Zero regulation/compliance breaches. Work with compliance team for all onboarding requirementsMaintenance of Database Maintain deal databases including different deal stats etc. Track league tables, competitor activity, and deal flow to inform origination prioritiesEducationBachelor's degreeExperiencesExtensive transaction experience working on DCM deals for emerging market clients Must have exposure to international best practices.Minimum 3 years relevant work experience Knowledge & SkillsMust have deep knowledge of credit and capital markets Proficient in Excel Powerpoint and Word, Bloomberg and Thomson Reuters platforms. Ability to manage client and time efficiently. Ability to motivate staff and perform diligently.
