Company Description The University of Udine, founded in 1978 as part of the reconstruction of Friuli after the 1976 earthquake, is an independent center for advanced cultural and scientific education. This dynamic environment fosters a continuous exchange of knowledge and partnerships, creating a distinctive model of education, research, and innovation.Role Description The Associate Professor role is a full-time, on-site position based in Udine. The successful candidate will contribute to teaching at undergraduate and graduate levels, including lecturing, supervising student projects and theses, designing course materials, and participating in examination activities. Day-to-day responsibilities include conducting independent and collaborative research, publishing in peer-reviewed journals, seeking external funding, and participating in research projects at national and international levels. The Associate Professor will also engage in departmental and faculty committees, contribute to curriculum development and quality assurance, and support initiatives related to internationalization and collaboration with partner universities. In addition, the role involves fostering connections with the local community and industry, promoting technology transfer, and mentoring junior academic staff and researchers.Qualifications Advanced academic qualifications, typically a PhD or equivalent doctoral degree in a relevant discipline, with a strong record of research publications.Demonstrated university-level teaching experience, including course design, student assessment, and supervision of theses or research projects.Proven ability to secure or contribute to externally funded research projects and collaborate in national or international research networks.Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to teach and work effectively in a multicultural, interdisciplinary environment.Experience participating in academic governance, such as committees, curriculum development, and quality assurance activities.Commitment to mentoring students and early-career researchers and promoting an inclusive, non-discriminatory academic culture.Ability to engage with local stakeholders and industry, supporting technology transfer and community-oriented projects.Proficiency in English; knowledge of Italian or willingness to acquire it is highly beneficial.
