Job SummaryTeaching staff with rank of associate professor is responsible of teaching and training of all students in the department/college and implementing approved policies and progress to achieve the targeted goals. Also s/he conducts scientific research and participates in all department activities.Candidate ProfileResponsibilitiesDeliver the students’ teaching and training duties and other related teaching activities within the college or off-site at the training institutions.Introduce the skills and knowledge that the students are about to learn, and how to measure them at first class according to the course study plan.Convey to the students the latest scientific findings in the field of specialization, and encourage them to learn and think.Follow-up the developments in the area of specialization, and contribute through scientific activity in the evolution of specialization.Prepare a portfolio for each course to teach.Prepare an assessment plan for all students.Demonstrates professional practices in teaching and uses the modem teaching methods and technologies to deliver the knowledge and skills to all students.Assess the student&sgqts performance to assure their accomplishment/achievement of the required knowledge and skills.Documents the performance of each student.Provide the student&sgqts with an instance feedback about their performance.Document the questions/answers used for assessment.Assure the equity and fairness for all students and manage their variances.Provide the support and the academic advising to students, and direct and motivate them, and communicate with them directly or via the modem communication means.Support and help the students in preparing and doing scientific research and supervising them to provide them with the scientific research skills.Overlook the department’s laboratories to assure their readiness for teaching and training with the needed equipment and materials. Conduct the assigned classes at the time scheduled as well as the scheduled office hours.Assures roles and participation in the department and college’s meetings and activities as well as the community services activities.Assures roles and participation in evaluating and developing the curriculum according to the new trends.Perform the teaching supports task such as preparing the lessons, preparing home works, tutorials, quizzes, assessments tools, grading, preparing labs, student&sgqts academic advising, and other tasks that are required by the educational operations.Conduct and publish the scientific research in the area of specialization, whether through research groups in the department / college or by collaboration with colleagues to perform the scientific research that contributes to achieving the goals of scientific research in colleges.Participate actively in the research groups within the department/college to contribute in achieving the goals of scientific research in colleges.Represents the department within the college or outside when assigned by the department head or vice/dean of the college in accordance to the work requirement/interest.Submit annual/mid annual report to the department head showing his/her achievements and participation in the work of department / college as well as his/her scientific research activities and publications.Perform assigned miscellaneous job-related duties.QualificationEssential:Bachelor&sgqts degree in the required specialization from an accredited university.Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in the required specialization from an accredited university, or an accredited medical fellowship certified after the MBBS bachelor degree from an accredited university/awarding body.The PhD degree or the medical fellowship certificate should be an extension of the Bachelor&sgqts degree specialization.Must have spent at least four (4) years as an assistant professor at an accredited university.Must have a promotion decision to the rank of an associate professor from a scientific council at an accredited university.Minimum RequirementsEssential:Knowing and mastering the basic knowledge and skills of the specialty required to teach the undergraduate courses.Knowing and mastering the science and advanced knowledge and skills in the specialty to teach advanced courses (e.g. MSc level) in the specialty.Ability to conduct specialized and innovative scientific research in the field of specialization.Ability to design and develop academic courses and curriculum.Knowing the methods and techniques of student’s counseling to enhance their achievement.Ability to supervise postgraduate students and direct them to improve their capabilities.Working ConditionsAbility to prepare theoretical and practical lectures/lab in the field of specialization.Ability to use computers and learning technologies in the learning and teaching process.Ability to use modern teaching and learning methods/techniques.Knowing the assessment/evaluation techniques/methods to assess and measure the students’ learning and achievements.Ability to work as a team player to achieve a common goal.Mastering the English language in speaking, listening, and writing. Obtaining a standard test e.g., TOEFL or IELTS is preferable.Ability to prepare technical reports for the academic courses and programs.
