Ph.D. in Psychology or a related discipline is desirable and preferred as per applicable UGC norms.Experience:Minimum 8–12 years of teaching, academic, research, or relevant professional experience in Psychology, with demonstrated experience in higher education, research, student mentoring, and academic administration.Role Summary:The Associate Professor – Psychology will be responsible for delivering high-quality teaching, mentoring students, contributing to curriculum development, and promoting research, innovation, and academic excellence within the Psychology program. The role requires strong subject expertise, research orientation, effective academic leadership, and the ability to integrate contemporary psychological theories, practices, and emerging areas into teaching and learning. The faculty member will actively contribute to student development, research initiatives, institutional activities, and the overall growth of the Psychology department.Roles and Responsibilities:• Deliver lectures, tutorials, practical sessions, workshops, and other academic activities for undergraduate and postgraduate Psychology students in accordance with the prescribed curriculum.• Develop, review, and update course content to incorporate contemporary psychological theories, research findings, applications, and emerging trends.• Mentor and guide students in academic projects, dissertations, internships, research activities, career development, and higher education opportunities.• Facilitate experiential learning through case studies, psychological assessments, fieldwork, role plays, group activities, research projects, and practical applications.• Demonstrate expertise in areas such as Clinical Psychology, Counselling Psychology, Cognitive Psychology, Developmental Psychology, Social Psychology, Organizational Psychology, Health Psychology, or other relevant specializations.• Conduct student assessments, evaluations, examinations, practicals, and academic reviews while maintaining academic integrity and transparency.• Guide students in research methodology, data collection, statistical analysis, dissertation preparation, academic writing, and research publication.• Contribute to curriculum design, academic planning, outcome-based education, accreditation processes, and quality assurance initiatives.• Engage in research, publications, conferences, consultancy, funded research projects, patents, and other knowledge creation activities.• Develop collaborations with hospitals, counselling centres, schools, organizations, research institutions, and industry to strengthen practical learning and industry-academia engagement.• Mentor junior faculty members and contribute to faculty development, academic reviews, and departmental capacity-building initiatives.• Participate in departmental, institutional, and university-level committees, events, seminars, conferences, workshops, and academic activities.• Support admissions, student engagement, outreach programs, academic counselling, faculty development, and institutional branding initiatives.• Maintain accurate academic records, research documentation, student records, course files, and compliance with university and regulatory requirements.• Contribute to the development of innovative teaching methodologies, digital learning resources, and technology-enabled psychological education.Key Skills & Competencies:• Strong subject knowledge in Psychology and its contemporary theories, concepts, applications, and research practices.• Sound understanding of Research Methodology, Psychological Assessment, Statistics, Psychometrics, and academic research.• Expertise in one or more areas such as Clinical Psychology, Counselling Psychology, Cognitive Psychology, Developmental Psychology, Social Psychology, Organizational Psychology, Health Psychology, or related domains.• Strong teaching, presentation, communication, mentoring, and student counselling skills.• Ability to design outcome-based and experiential learning experiences aligned with academic and industry requirements.• Demonstrated research aptitude with publications, conference presentations, research projects, consultancy, or other scholarly contributions.• Proficiency in statistical and research tools/software used in Psychology and social sciences.• Ability to guide undergraduate and postgraduate research projects, dissertations, and academic publications.• Familiarity with Learning Management Systems (LMS), digital learning platforms, and technology-enabled teaching methodologies.• Strong analytical, interpersonal, problem-solving, and academic leadership abilities.• Commitment to academic excellence, professional ethics, student development, and continuous learning.• Ability to work collaboratively with faculty, students, researchers, professionals, and academic stakeholders.
