The role provides an opportunity to work with experienced technology professionals, develop technical expertise, and contribute to reliable and scalable digital solutions.Key ResponsibilitiesAssist in designing, developing, testing, and maintaining software applications.Translate business and technical requirements into effective software solutions.Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code following established development standards.Collaborate with senior developers, QA engineers, business analysts, and product teams.Develop and integrate APIs, databases, and third-party services.Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve application defects and technical issues.Participate in code reviews, unit testing, debugging, and deployment activities.Prepare and maintain technical documentation.Support application enhancements, upgrades, and maintenance activities.Follow software security, quality, and development best practices.Continuously learn new technologies and contribute to process improvements.Required Skills & QualificationsBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.Good understanding of programming concepts and object-oriented programming (OOP).Knowledge of at least one programming language such as Java, Python, C#, C++, or JavaScript.Basic understanding of data structures, algorithms, and software design principles.Familiarity with SQL and relational databases such as MySQL or PostgreSQL.Understanding of RESTful APIs and web services.Familiarity with Git or other version control systems.Understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).Strong analytical, problem-solving, and debugging skills.Good communication and teamwork abilities.Preferred SkillsKnowledge of frameworks such as Spring Boot, .NET, Django, Node.js, React, or Angular.Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.Basic understanding of Docker, CI/CD, or DevOps practices.Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies.Academic projects, internships, or personal projects involving software development will be an added advantage.Work EnvironmentShriram General Insurance offers a collaborative and learning-focused technology environment where Associate Software Engineers can develop their technical skills, work on real-world applications, and contribute to the organization's digital transformation initiatives.
