Apply & track with Apply EdgeRole DescriptionAs an Assortment Planning Assistant, you will support the planning and management of product assortments to ensure the right products, categories, and quantities are aligned with customer demand and business objectives. You will assist with assortment analysis, product data management, inventory planning, reporting, and coordination with merchandising, buying, sales, and operations teams.Key responsibilities include:Assist in developing and maintaining product assortment plans based on business requirements and customer demand.Support the analysis of sales performance, inventory levels, product trends, and category performance.Maintain accurate product, category, pricing, and assortment data across relevant systems.Assist with product selection, assortment updates, launches, discontinuations, and seasonal planning activities.Monitor stock availability and identify potential overstock, understock, or assortment gaps.Prepare assortment reports, sales summaries, inventory analysis, and planning presentations.Support the preparation of product lists, range reviews, and assortment recommendations.Coordinate with merchandising, buying, inventory, sales, and operations teams to ensure assortment plans are implemented accurately.Assist in tracking product performance and highlighting opportunities for assortment optimization.Support promotional, seasonal, and new product planning activities.Ensure product information and assortment documentation are complete, accurate, and up to date.Assist with data analysis and reporting to support commercial and assortment decisions.Contribute to process improvements that enhance assortment efficiency, product availability, and business performance.Perform other administrative and analytical duties related to assortment planning as required.QualificationsDiploma or Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Merchandising, Retail Management, Marketing, Supply Chain Management, or a related discipline.Good understanding of retail, merchandising, product assortment, inventory, and sales concepts.Strong analytical and numerical skills with excellent attention to detail.Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.Ability to organize and analyze product, sales, and inventory data effectively.Strong organizational and coordination skills.Good communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to manage multiple tasks, priorities, and deadlines.Ability to translate data and information into clear reports and actionable insights.Strong problem-solving skills and a commercially focused mindset.Ability to work collaboratively with merchandising, buying, sales, inventory, and operations teams.Familiarity with retail planning, merchandising, ERP, or business intelligence systems is an advantage.Proactive, detail-oriented, and willing to learn new tools and processes.Flexible and adaptable to changing product, customer, and business requirements.
