Apply & track with Apply EdgeThe Assistant Manager – Project & Construction Audit provides independent assurance over the cost, contractual and site-level controls governing OMNIYAT and Beyond project and construction activities. Reporting to the Project & Construction Audit Manager, the role executes fieldwork across the project lifecycle — testing payment certificates, variations, claims and retentions, verifying quantities with cost consultants, reviewing contractor compliance, and conducting site visits to assess progress, materials, HSE and quality. Through timely, well-evidenced findings and diligent follow-up on corrective actions, the incumbent helps protect project budgets, strengthen contractor accountability and support the disciplined, well-controlled delivery of developments across the portfolio.Day to Day Tasks:Test payment certificates, valuations, variations, claims and retentions submitted by contractors against the terms of the underlying contracts and approved budgetsVerify quantities and measurements with cost consultants and quantity surveyors on assigned developments to confirm that works claimed have been executedReview contractor compliance with contractual obligations, including insurances, performance bonds, guarantees and other security requirementsConduct regular site visits to observe progress, materials, workmanship, health, safety and environment (HSE) practices, and overall quality of constructionDocument audit findings clearly, quantifying the cost impact where relevant and proposing practical, actionable recommendationsMaintain and update the issue tracker, following up with site and project teams on the status of outstanding audit actionsCoordinate site visit schedules and logistics with project teams, contractors and cost consultants to ensure timely and unobstructed accessSupport the Project & Construction Audit Manager in scoping, planning and prioritizing audit fieldwork across the portfolio of developmentsAssist in preparing clear, well-evidenced audit reports summarizing cost, contract and site-level findings for managementConduct interviews and walkthroughs with site and project teams to understand project controls, workflows and approval processesTrack the resolution of audit findings through to closure and escalate overdue or unresolved items to the ManagerReview variation orders, change requests and claims for commercial and contractual justification before recommending certificationBenchmark contractor rates, quantities and productivity against approved budgets, market norms and comparable projectsPrepare and maintain audit working papers and supporting evidence files sufficient to substantiate audit conclusionsKeep up to date with relevant contract forms (e.g., FIDIC), industry practices and regulatory requirements affecting project and construction auditLong Term ProjectsSupport expansion of project audit coverage across assigned developments in the portfolio.Contribute to refining project & construction audit testing templates and site-visit checklists.Experience & Qualification:Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Construction Management or a related field.4+ years of experience in project/construction audit or quantity surveying or part of experience preferably with Capital Project & Infrastructure (CPI) team of Big 4 or consulting firmTesting of payment certificates, variations, claims and retentionsQuantity verification with cost consultantsContractor compliance review: terms, insurances and bondsSite visits covering progress, materials, HSE and qualityCost-impact findings development and issue tracking
