Astrophysicist

=We are looking for an Astrophysicist to conduct research and analysis on celestial phenomena using observational data, theoretical models, and computational techniques. The role involves working with large scientific datasets, developing simulation/analysis workflows, and collaborating with cross-functional research and engineering teams. Conduct astrophysics research in areas such as [cosmology / stellar evolution / exoplanets / galactic dynamics / high-energy astrophysics].Analyze observational data from telescopes, surveys, and space missions.Develop and validate theoretical/computational models to explain observed phenomena.Build and maintain reproducible data-processing and analysis pipelines.Collaborate with engineers and data scientists to improve scientific tooling and infrastructure.Publish findings in peer-reviewed journals and present results at conferences.Contribute to grant proposals, technical documentation, and internal research reports.Mentor junior researchers/students (if applicable). PhD or Master’s in Astrophysics, Astronomy, Physics, or related field.Strong understanding of core astrophysics concepts and research methods.Proficiency in Python and scientific libraries (e.g., NumPy, SciPy, Astropy, pandas).Experience with statistical analysis, uncertainty quantification, and model validation.Experience handling astronomical data formats (e.g., FITS, HDF5).Strong written and verbal communication skills.Preferred QualificationsExperience with high-performance computing (HPC), parallel processing, or cloud compute.Familiarity with simulation frameworks (e.g., N-body, hydrodynamics, radiative transfer).Knowledge of machine learning methods for astronomical data.Track record of publications and conference presentations.Experience with Git, Linux environments, and reproducible research workflows.
