Audio Visual (AV) Support EngineerLocation: Azim Premji University, Itki, Ranchi, Jharkhand Experience: 5 to 8 Years Qualification: Graduate or Diploma in Electronics, Electrical, Audio Visual Technologies, IT, or related discipline with relevant hands-on experience.About the RoleThe Audio Visual (AV) Support Engineer will be responsible for the implementation, operation, maintenance, and support of AV solutions across classrooms, lecture halls, auditoriums, meeting rooms, and event spaces within the university. The role requires a technically proficient professional with strong hands-on experience in AV systems, live event support, streaming technologies, and specialized audio equipment.Key ResponsibilitiesAV Infrastructure Implementation & ManagementOversee the installation, configuration, testing, and commissioning of AV solutions in classrooms, lecture halls, conference rooms, and auditoriums.Coordinate with vendors, contractors, and internal stakeholders during AV deployments and upgrades.Ensure AV systems comply with university standards and operational requirements.Audio Visual Operations & SupportProvide day-to-day operational support for all AV facilities across the campus.Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to projectors, displays, microphones, speakers, mixers, amplifiers, control systems, cameras, and other AV equipment.Perform routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and health checks of AV systems.Maintain inventory and documentation of AV assets, configurations, and service records.Event & Classroom SupportSupport academic sessions, university events, seminars, webinars, conferences, and town halls.Set up and operate AV equipment for lectures, presentations, and special events.Ensure smooth operation of audio, video, and presentation systems during live sessions.Specialized Equipment ManagementOperate and manage digital and analog audio mixers, video switchers, DSPs, wireless microphone systems, conferencing equipment, and related AV infrastructure.Fine-tune audio settings and optimize sound quality for classrooms and event venues.Support integration of AV systems with collaboration platforms such as Microsoft Teams and Zoom.Required Skills & CompetenciesTechnical SkillsStrong knowledge of professional AV technologies and systems.Expertise in audio mixers, microphones, amplifiers, projectors, displays, and streaming solutions.Experience with YouTube Live Streaming and event broadcasting.Familiarity with Microsoft Teams, Zoom, and other collaboration platforms.Ability to diagnose and resolve AV hardware and software issues efficiently.Soft SkillsStrong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.Good communication and stakeholder management skills.Ability to work independently and provide support during events outside normal working hours when required.Strong documentation and coordination skills.Experience5 to 8 years of hands-on experience in Audio Visual system implementation, operations, and support.Experience in educational institutions, universities, corporate campuses, auditoriums, convention centers, or similar environments will be preferred.Preferred CertificationsAVIXA CTS (Certified Technology Specialist) or equivalent certification.Manufacturer certifications from Crestron, Extron, Shure, Biamp, QSC, or similar AV vendors will be an added advantage.
