This opportunity is ideal for a hands-on technician who enjoys installing, integrating, testing, and servicing systems that help organizations communicate and collaborate effectively. Based on site in Tempe, Arizona, you will work alongside experienced technical professionals while developing expertise across leading audio, video, control, networking, and intercom technologies.Responsibilities:Install, service, test, troubleshoot, and program commercial audio visual systems, including Extron, Cisco, Bogen, and related technologies.Install projectors, screens, flat-panel displays, cameras, speakers, microphones, structural mounts, and rigging systems.Fabricate equipment racks and install backboards, connecting blocks, patch panels, fiber enclosures, and audio visual equipment.Install, terminate, organize, label, splice, and test copper, coaxial, and fiber optic cabling in accordance with industry standards.Load and test control and DSP code, and complete minor programming changes under the direction of an engineer or programmer.Use electrical and audio visual test equipment, including multimeters, voltmeters, ohm meters, oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, and impedance meters.Support retrofit and new construction projects, cutovers, grounding tests, client training, and completion of assigned project scope.Maintain accurate daily documentation, follow safety procedures, communicate with customers, and provide job-site leadership when required.Must-Have Skills:High school diploma, technical trade school diploma, or equivalent combination of education and experience.At least three years of experience installing communications infrastructure, including fiber, copper, coaxial, or hybrid systems.Working knowledge of commercial audio systems, sound reinforcement, paging, public address, background music, intercom, DSP, balancing, and gain structure.Knowledge of video technologies, projectors, video formats, presentation systems, and Video over IP or converging technologies.Hands-on experience installing and servicing audio visual systems and structured cabling.Ability to read, organize, terminate, label, and test cabling and equipment in commercial environments.Successful completion of InfoComm Quick Start to Audiovisual Industry and OSHA 10-Hour Construction courses.Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, a valid driver's license, and the ability to work safely, including occasional nights, weekends, overtime, or on-call schedules.Nice-to-Have Skills:Bogen Nyquist IP Intercom or Bogen Quantum certification.BSS DSP certification or experience with DSP configuration and commissioning.Cisco CCNA certification or knowledge of networked audio visual systems.Extron AV Associate or Extron Control System certification.InfoComm CTS or CTS-I certification.Experience uploading and downloading Extron control programs and making minor control system changes.Familiarity with ANSI, EIA/TIA, local codes, and National Electrical Code requirements.Ability to mentor junior technicians, complete client training, and work independently or as part of an installation team.
