Audio Visual Technician

Experienced AV Technician | Join Modern Automation$30–$35/hour based on experience | Full-Time | Monday–FridayAre you an experienced AV Technician who takes pride in building systems that are not only technically excellent, but also clean, organized, and professionally installed?Modern Automation is a growing technology integration company specializing in high-end residential and commercial AV, automation, networking, and control systems. We work on custom projects ranging from luxury home theatres and whole-home automation to sophisticated boardrooms, video conferencing, distributed audio, networking, and advanced control systems.We’re looking for an Experienced AV Technician to join our team.What You’ll DoYou’ll be hands-on throughout the installation process, including:• Install and terminate low-voltage AV, control, and networking cabling• Perform cable dressing, labeling, and termination• Build and wire AV racks with exceptional organization and cable management• Perform residential and commercial low-voltage rough-ins• Install in-wall and in-ceiling speakers• Install projectors, displays, TVs, and other AV equipment• Install and configure networking equipment and AV components• Install and integrate Sonos, Amazon Alexa, Google Assistant, and other smart-home technologies• Assist with AV and home automation commissioning• Troubleshoot and resolve installation issues• Follow wiring diagrams, project plans, and installation standards• Maintain a clean, safe, organized, and professional job siteWhat We’re Looking ForRequired:• Minimum 1 year of hands-on AV installation experience — 2+ years preferred• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation• Legally authorized to work in Canada• Strong understanding of low-voltage cabling and installation practices• Comfortable using hand and power tools• Able to read and follow wiring diagrams, plans, and technical instructions• Excellent organization and attention to detail• Reliable, punctual, and professional• Able to work independently and as part of a team• Comfortable taking direction from lead techniciansExperience with any of the following is an advantage:• Crestron systems• AV rack building and wiring• Residential or commercial automation• Networking and structured cabling• Distributed audio• Video conferencing• Dedicated home theatres• Industry certifications or formal AV trainingWhat We Offer$30–$35/hour, based on experience and qualifications• Full-time, Monday–Friday• Consistent 8-hour shifts• Vacation pay• Extended health spending account following successful completion of probation• Dental care• Extended health care• Vision care• Coverage for eligible services such as physiotherapy, chiropractic care, and massage therapyWhy Modern Automation?At Modern Automation, no two projects are exactly the same.You’ll have the opportunity to work with sophisticated technology across a wide range of custom installations — from high-end home theatres and whole-home automation to commercial boardrooms, networking, distributed audio, video conferencing, and advanced control systems.If you’re someone who enjoys working with technology, solving problems, working with your hands, and taking genuine pride in the quality of your installation, we’d like to meet you.Join Modern Automation and help us build technology experiences that people live and work with every day.Interested?
