This position is not with OVI.The role delivers independent, objective, and risk-based internal audits of Corporate, Retail, Treasury, Credit and Risk functions. It calls for a robust evaluation of governance, risk management, and control processes across those units, in line with UAE Central Bank regulations and global best practices.You will work independently with minimal supervision, use the available Internal Audit tools to complete assigned audit tasks to the required quality and to target, and conduct or join special assignments, reviews, and other tasks when Internal Audit Management requires them. You will also train and develop the skills and knowledge of team members and communicate the organisation's shared culture and values.Key Responsibilities
- Identify weaknesses in the processes of Corporate, Retail, Treasury and Risk Management audit entities, to strengthen the overall control environment.
- Take part in audits in line with the IIA Standards and the Internal Audit Policy and Procedure Manual.
- As a member of the audit team, support the Auditor in Charge in preparing the Terms of Reference and the Audit Planning Memorandum.
- Prepare the audit test programmes for the areas allocated on the engagement, for review by the Auditor in Charge.
- Complete the audit engagement on time, including the working papers.
- Support the Auditor in Charge in finalising the audit report.
- Follow up and monitor implementation of audit recommendations by stakeholders.
- Join special assignments whenever required, and carry out other tasks assigned by Audit Management.
- Build productive working relationships with stakeholders, stay engaged so disputes stay low, and keep independence and objectivity.
- Build a trusted relationship with management.
- Performance is measured against annual KPIs.Your Profile
- UAE National.
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounts, or Economics from a recognised university or institution.
- Minimum 3 years of banking experience, with more than 1 year in audit in the banking domain.
- Good written and verbal communication and report writing in English and Arabic.
- Hands-on experience with audit management software.
- Knowledge of the local laws, regulations, and standards that govern banking.
- Reasonable knowledge of audit processes, banking operations, and support functions.
- Team player who can work on more than one engagement at the same time.
- Able to collaborate across organisational barriers, with good interpersonal skills and a clear way of explaining issues.
- Desirable qualification: CA or ACCA.
- Preferred certification or training: CIA and ACAMS.
- Mandated competencies at intermediate level: customer service and consumer protection, quality orientation, ethical conduct and compliance with regulations, communication, digitalization and innovation, and risk and fraud awareness.
- Technical competencies at intermediate level: Global Internal Audit Standards (GIAS) and Topical Requirements, regulatory awareness and compliance, audit engagement management (execution), governance, risk management and internal control, and fraud risk management.
- Intermediate means a solid working proficiency: you perform independently with limited supervision, handle complex situations, and use theory and practice together. Where advanced techniques are required, you will need some support.What's Offered
