Automation Engineer

Senior Automation Test EngineerWe are seeking an experienced Senior Automation Test Engineer with 5–8 years of experience to join our QA team in Saudi Arabia. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on expertise in Java, Selenium, Appium, REST Assured, BDD,API automation, CI/CD, SQL, and Kafka testing.The role involves designing and maintaining robust automation frameworks across Web, Mobile, and API platforms, while collaborating closely with development, QA, and business teams in an Agile environment.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign, develop, and maintain automation frameworks for Web, Mobile, and API testing using industry-standard tools and best practices.Develop and maintain UI automation scripts using Selenium WebDriver.Build and execute mobile automation tests using Appium for Android and iOS applications.Develop API automation frameworks and test cases using REST Assured.Perform API validation covering headers, payloads, schema validation, status codes, authentication, and parameterization.Execute functional, regression, smoke, integration, and end-to-end automation testing.Participate actively in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.Analyze application and server logs to identify issues, determine root causes, and validate system behavior.Work closely with developers to troubleshoot automation failures and stabilize test suites.Integrate automated test suites with CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Jenkins, Azure DevOps, or GitLab CI.Perform testing and validation of Kafka-based systems, including topics, producers, consumers, events, and message/data flows.Perform database validation using SQL queries to verify data accuracy, consistency, and integrity.Manage automation scripts, application builds, and test assets using Git/version control systems.Review and optimize existing automation scripts to improve reusability, stability, maintainability, and execution performance.Contribute to QA strategy, automation best practices, and continuous improvement initiatives.Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior QA/automation engineers.Support manual testing activities where required and ensure adherence to STLC and SDLC processes.Required Skills & Experience5–8 years of overall experience in software testing and test automation.Strong hands-on experience with Java programming.Excellent expertise in Selenium WebDriver for web automation.Strong experience with Appium for Android and iOS mobile application automation.Hands-on experience with REST Assured for API automation testing.Good understanding of API testing, including:Headers and payloadsStatus codesAuthenticationSchema validationParameterizationStrong understanding of STLC, SDLC, and software testing principles.Experience working in Agile/Scrum or Kanban environments.Experience in mobile application testing, including application versioning, build management, and device management.Good knowledge of databases with the ability to write complex SQL queries.Basic to good hands-on experience with Apache Kafka, including topics, producers, consumers, events, and message flows.Experience analyzing application/server logs using tools such as Kibana, Splunk, Logcat, or similar.Experience integrating automation frameworks with CI/CD pipelines.Hands-on experience with Git or other version control systems.Good understanding and practical experience in manual testing.Strong analytical, troubleshooting, communication, and problem-solving skills.Location & Employment DetailsWork Location: Saudi Arabia – OnsiteExperience: 5–8 YearsNotice Period: Maximum 1 MonthWork Mode: OnsiteDomain: Banking/Financial Services experience preferredIf interested please reply with updated cv to balaguru@hastraa.comWRBalaguru
