The Automation Engineer will design, implement, and maintain automation systems for marine and offshore vessels, including control panels, instrumentation, and integration with mechanical and electrical systems. Day-to-day work includes diagnosing and resolving automation and control issues, optimizing process control for efficiency and safety, and supporting installation, commissioning, and maintenance activities on board vessels and in the workshop. The role involves collaborating with electrical, mechanical, and fabrication teams, preparing technical documentation, and ensuring compliance with industry standards and company procedures. The Automation Engineer is expected to participate in continuous improvement initiatives and provide technical guidance for automation-related projects.Qualifications Strong troubleshooting skills for automation, electrical, and control system issues.Knowledge of process control systems, instrumentation, and marine control architectures.Background in electrical engineering with experience in industrial or marine environments.Hands-on experience with automation systems, PLCs, HMI/SCADA, and related integration.Exposure to robotics or automated mechanical systems is an advantage.Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation, Mechatronics, or a related field.Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, wiring diagrams, and specifications.Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with attention to safety and compliance.Effective communication and teamwork skills in a multidisciplinary environment.Previous experience in marine, offshore, or industrial repair and maintenance is preferred.
