Automation Engineer

YOUR ROLEThe Automation Engineer is responsible for ensuring the reliability, performance and continuous improvement of warehouse automation and robotics systems. The role provides technical support for automation operations, develops maintenance strategies, manage supplier relationships and after-sales support through regular performance reviews, and builds technical competencies within warehouse operations teams.WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO?Automation Operations SupportProvide Level 1 and Level 2 technical support for warehouse automation systemsConduct troubleshooting, root cause analysis and corrective actions to minimize system downtime and disruptionsCoordinate vendor escalation and issue resolutionMonitor automation system performance and reliabilityMaintenance ManagementDevelop preventive maintenance programmes to maximize equipment reliabilityManage maintenance schedules and spare parts planning to ensure timely support and cost-effective operationsSupport equipment lifecycle management, including upgrades, replacement and end-of-life planningContinuous ImprovementIdentify opportunities to optimise automation performance, productivity and scalabilityAnalyse operational data and recommend improvement opportunitiesLead and manage automation enhancement, upgrade and optimization projectsTraining and Capability DevelopmentDevelop training materials and SOPConduct technical training for operations teamsBuild first-level troubleshooting capabilities within operations to improve self-sufficiency and response timeMaintain engineering documentation and knowledge repositoriesWHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?Degree or Masters in Engineering, Mechatronics, Robotics, Industrial Automation or Supply Chain with a relevant specializationMinimum 3 years of experience in automation, robotics or industrial engineeringStrong in data crunching and analysisProficient in Microsoft PowerPoint and ExcelExperience supporting automated warehouse or manufacturing systemsExperience with Goods-to-Person systems, AMRs/AGVs, Conveyor and sortation systems, Warehouse Control Systems (WCS), Warehouse Management Systems (WMS)Knowledge of PLC and industrial controlsExperience in root cause analysis and preventive maintenanceComfortable with presenting and communicating with customers and stakeholders within all levels of the organizationGood and adaptive team player with strong interpersonal skillsWHAT DO WE HAVE TO OFFER?With a genuine culture of reward and recognition, we want our employees to grow, develop and be part of our journey.
