The client is unable to provide visa sponsorship for this position.***Work Arrangement: On-siteSchedule: Rotating schedule — 3 months on days / 3 months on nightsShift: 3 × 12-hour shifts one week, followed by 4 × 12-hour shifts the next weekOvertime: Limited to no regular overtimeTravel: MinimalJOB SUMMARYOur confidential client is seeking a Controls Engineer with experience in automated assembly systems, industrial controls, and robotics. This individual will be responsible for troubleshooting, maintaining, developing, and improving automation and controls systems to increase productivity, efficiency, equipment uptime, and overall equipment effectiveness (OEE).The ideal candidate will be hands-on, technically strong, and comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This role will work closely with production, engineering, maintenance, and other cross-functional teams to identify root causes, implement solutions, and support continuous improvement initiatives.DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIESMaintain required checklists and documentation.Review and input data into PLC logs.Review shift reports and identify issues or opportunities requiring attention.Participate in and prepare for management meetings.Program, troubleshoot, maintain, and improve automated equipment and controls systems.Collaborate with other facilities and cross-functional departments.Utilize team member feedback to identify and resolve equipment and process issues.Troubleshoot critical equipment and controls issues and develop effective solutions.Maintain and improve overall equipment effectiveness (OEE).Monitor and improve HMI performance.Evaluate new manufacturing, automation, controls, and robotics technologies.Utilize diagnostic tools and troubleshooting techniques to identify root causes.Participate in continuous improvement projects focused on equipment performance, reliability, and efficiency.Perform periodic equipment audits to improve uptime and identify potential issues before failures occur.Identify and implement error-proofing opportunities throughout the production process.Support incident reporting, documentation, and required reports.Participate in SOT walks and follow all established health and safety procedures.Maintain a proactive and preventative approach to safety.Stay current with developments in controls, automation, and robotics technology.Complete required training and maintain compliance with company requirements.Perform other duties as assigned.EDUCATION & EXPERIENCEBachelor's degree in Engineering, IT, or a related technical field.2+ years of industry experience working with controls, automation, robotics, or related manufacturing equipment.Strong English communication skills.KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIESAllen-Bradley / Studio 5000Siemens / Step 7C++C#Ladder logicAbility to read electrical and engineering drawingsAdvanced knowledge of electronic devices and industrial controlsRobotics programming and troubleshooting, preferably FanucKnowledge of industrial communication protocolsAdvanced computer and controls troubleshooting skillsSCHEDULEThis position follows a rotating schedule:3 months on day shift3 months on night shiftOne week: 3 × 12-hour shiftsFollowing week: 4 × 12-hour shiftsLimited to no regular overtimeThis is a strong opportunity for a Controls Engineer who enjoys being hands-on with automation, controls, and robotics and wants to have a direct impact on equipment reliability, uptime, and manufacturing performance.
