Automotive Engineer - Service

Job Purpose:The Automotive Engineer-Service is responsible for ensuring efficient diagnosis, maintenance, and repair of vehicles in alignment with manufacturer standards and company quality guidelines. This role is crucial in providing expert technical support, resolving complex service issues promptly, and delivering superior customer satisfaction through high-quality service execution.

Job Responsibilities

Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical and electrical vehicle systems.Perform scheduled maintenance tasks, including oil changes, brake inspections, tire rotations, and engine tuning.Ensure all repair and maintenance work meets manufacturer specifications and safety requirements.Conduct test drives and post-service quality checks to verify the accuracy and safety of all repairs.Operate diagnostic tools and specialized equipment to identify system faults and confirm successful repairs.Stay current with the latest vehicle technologies, repair procedures, and diagnostic practices.Communicate transparently with customers about repair needs, cost estimates, and service timelines.Prepare accurate service reports, job cards, and technical documentation.Assist in resolving customer concerns and contribute to maintaining high satisfaction scores.Coordinate with parts and service teams to ensure availability and timely delivery of required components.Uphold workshop safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized work environment.Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior technicians as needed.

Job Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Automobile or Mechanical Engineering.6-8 years of progressive experience in automotive service operations, preferably in a franchise environment.Comprehensive understanding of automotive systems, diagnostics, and repair processes.Proven leadership and people management skills.Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.Results-driven mindset with strong cost-consciousness and business acumen.
