Apply & track with Apply EdgeWe are looking for an Autonomous Robotics Engineer to join Automata Robotics and contribute to the development of autonomous robotic systems.In this role, you will work across robotics software, perception, navigation, control, and hardware integration. You will be involved in developing, testing, and deploying algorithms on real robotic platforms, with a strong emphasis on practical engineering and system-level problem solving.
Responsibilities
Develop and integrate robotic systems using ROS 2.Implement and test localization, SLAM, navigation, and motion planning algorithms.Work with sensors such as LiDAR, RGB-D/stereo cameras, IMUs, and encoders.Develop robot control and autonomous behavior for mobile robotic platforms.Integrate software with embedded systems, actuators, motor controllers, and robotic hardware.Develop and validate systems in simulation and on physical robots.Debug complex hardware–software integration issues.Document, test, and maintain robotics software.Preferred qualifications:Background in Robotics, Mechatronics, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.Experience with C++ and/or Python.Experience with ROS or ROS 2.Familiarity with Linux and Git.Understanding of robotics fundamentals such as coordinate frames, kinematics, control, localization, and sensor fusion.Experience with SLAM, Nav2, Gazebo, MoveIt, computer vision, or autonomous navigation is a plus.Experience deploying software on NVIDIA Jetson or similar embedded computing platforms is a plus.We value strong engineering fundamentals, curiosity, hands-on problem solving, and the ability to work across both software and hardware. Previous professional experience in every listed technology is not required if you can demonstrate relevant robotics projects, research, or technical work.
