Apply & track with Apply EdgeAbout Us We are building autonomous vehicle for last-mile delivery. Our autonomous electric vehicles are engineered to thrive in complex urban environments, transforming the logistics of groceries, food, and parcels into a frictionless experience empowering businesses to break free from traditional constraints, deliver around the clock, and set a new benchmark for modern logistics. Our team brings together engineers, researchers, and vehicle specialists to take autonomous vehicles from the test track to the real world. The Role We're looking for a Field Engineering Intern to join our autonomous vehicle team for six months. This is a hybrid role: you'll spend part of your time monitoring our autonomous vehicles during on-road and closed-course testing, and part of your time developing and maintaining the software and tooling that keeps our fleet running. It's an ideal opportunity for an engineering student who wants to combine time behind the wheel with real software and systems work. Because this role involves physically driving and testing vehicles, it is an on-site, full-time position. What You'll Do - Monitor autonomous vehicles during testing, serving as a trained safety driver ready to take manual control at any moment. - Follow and help refine test protocols, safety procedures, and pre-drive checklists. - Monitor vehicle behavior and system performance in real time; identify, document, and report disengagements, edge cases, and anomalies. - Collect, log, and annotate data from test drives to support the autonomy and engineering teams. - Help develop, test, and maintain the vehicle software and internal tools (e.g., logging pipelines, diagnostics dashboards, fleet-monitoring and test-management tools). - Triage and reproduce issues, and work with software and autonomy engineers to debug and resolve them. - Support routine vehicle readiness tasks such as sensor checks, calibration, and basic diagnostics. - Contribute to code reviews, documentation, and continuous improvement of day-to-day field procedures. What We're Looking For - Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Robotics, Mechanical, Electrical, Computer, or Software Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field. - Programming experience in Python and/or C++. - Familiarity with Linux and version control (Git). - Strong attention to detail, good situational awareness, and the ability to stay calm and focused under pressure. - Genuine interest in autonomous systems, robotics, or self-driving technology. Nice to Have - Coursework or hands-on experience with robotics, ROS, control systems, or sensors (LiDAR, radar, cameras). - Experience building internal tools, scripting, or working with data-analysis pipelines. - Familiarity with vehicle systems, embedded software, or CAN bus. What You'll Gain - Direct, hands-on experience driving and supporting real autonomous vehicles. - Mentorship from experienced engineers and exposure to the full autonomy stack. - The chance to see your software and process improvements used daily by the team.
