We value technical ability, clear communication, reliability, and a willingness to learn.About the RoleThis is a hands-on position that bridges AV installation, field service, and systems engineering. It is not strictly an engineering desk job, nor is it limited to pulling cable and mounting equipment.Depending on experience, responsibilities may include:Installing displays, projectors, loudspeakers, microphones, equipment racks, cameras, and related AV equipmentPulling, terminating, labeling, and testing AV and network cablingReading drawings, wiring diagrams, and equipment schedulesConfiguring and troubleshooting audio, video, control, and networked AV systemsAssisting with system commissioning, DSP configuration, and system tuningDiagnosing service issues in both new and existing systemsDocumenting completed work, field changes, test results, and punch-list itemsCommunicating with project managers, customers, contractors, and other team membersTraining customers on basic system operationTraveling to customer sites, including occasional overnight travelWe recognize that the person who can do every part of this role is somewhat uncommon. We are open to experienced AV professionals, field installers ready to develop stronger technical skills, and candidates from related electrical, electronics, networking, broadcast, or IT backgrounds.What We Are Looking ForMechanical aptitude and the ability to work safely with hand and power toolsBasic understanding of AV signal flow, cabling, and system installationStrong troubleshooting skills and a methodical approach to solving problemsPractical understanding of IP networking or a willingness to develop itAbility to read technical drawings and follow installation plansClear communication, organization, reliability, and attention to detailAbility to work independently while remaining accountable to the project teamAbility to work from ladders and aerial lifts as requiredValid driver’s license and willingness to travelExperience with the following is beneficial, but we do not expect every applicant to bring all of it:Q-SYSDante and AES67Ubiquiti or Juniper networkingManaged switches, VLANs, PoE, multicast, IGMP, and QoSDSP configuration and audio system tuningNDI or other video-over-IP platformsWireless microphones, conferencing systems, control systems, and commercial AV equipmentAVIXA CTS or manufacturer trainingCandidates should be willing to complete applicable Dante and Q-SYS training as they develop in the position.This role is a good fit for someone who enjoys building systems, solving field problems, learning new technologies, and seeing a project through from installation to final operation.
