***This role is based in Doha, Qatar***About the jobWe are looking for a Risk Aviation - Vice President.Purpose of the RoleTo identify, assess, monitor, and manage risks associated with the Bank’s aviation investment and financing activities, ensuring that aviation transactions, aircraft assets, counterparties, and related exposures are managed within the Bank’s approved risk appetite, policies, and regulatory requirements. The role will provide independent risk oversight and analysis to support informed investment decisions, protect the Bank’s assets, and ensure effective risk governance across the aviation portfolio.Key ResponsibilitiesIdentify, assess, and monitor key risks associated with aviation investments, aircraft assets, leasing activities, and counterparties.Conduct independent risk assessments of proposed aviation transactions and provide recommendations to support informed investment decisions.Assess credit and counterparty risk, including the financial strength, creditworthiness, and performance of airlines, lessees, operators, and other relevant counterparties.Monitor aircraft asset and residual value risk, including market conditions, aircraft age, type, utilization, and potential changes in asset values.Evaluate country, market, liquidity, and concentration risks associated with the aviation portfolio and highlight emerging areas of concern.Review lease structures, transaction terms, contractual arrangements, collateral, guarantees, and other risk mitigants to ensure appropriate risk protection.Monitor the aviation portfolio against approved risk appetite, limits, policies, and investment guidelines, escalating breaches or material concerns promptly.Develop and maintain risk reports, dashboards, and analysis for senior management, investment committees, and relevant governance forums.Identify emerging risks within the aviation sector, including regulatory, geopolitical, economic, operational, and industry-specific developments, and assess their potential impact on the portfolio.Ensure effective risk governance and compliance with applicable regulatory requirements, internal policies, procedures, and risk management frameworks, while supporting continuous improvementExperience & Qualifications5–8 years of relevant experience in risk management, aviation finance, aircraft leasing, investment management, or a related financial services environment.Experience in aviation risk assessment, credit and counterparty analysis, portfolio monitoring, and risk reporting, preferably within an aviation or financial institution.Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Risk Management, Aviation Management, or a related field; professional qualifications such as CFA, FRM, or equivalent are an advantage.Strong knowledge of aviation finance, risk assessment, credit analysis, aircraft leasing, financial analysis, and portfolio risk management, with strong analytical, communication, and reporting skills.Success FactorsStrong ownership mindset with the ability to independently manage, track, and follow up on multiple client requests and deliverables.Exceptional attention to detail with a focus on accuracy across client materials, transactions, and reporting.Proven execution capability with the ability to deliver high-quality outputs under tight timelines.Effective coordination skills, ensuring seamless collaboration across internal teams and timely completion of client-related activities.Strong organizational and prioritization skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and maintain structured tracking of client pipelines, requests, and deliverables.
