Apply & track with Apply EdgeTalentstream's Aerospace and Defense team is engaged on a search for an experienced Avionics Software Engineer for a mid size A&D Engineering services organization in Phoenix,AZ. This a 3 day a week hybrid role, applicants are expected to reside local to the area. You will join a growing engineering team developing next-generation aerospace and flight systems. The ideal candidate will have experience developing safety-critical avionics software and a strong understanding of aerospace software development standards. You'll work alongside multidisciplinary engineering teams to design, develop, test, and integrate embedded software supporting advanced flight systems.ResponsibilitiesDesign, develop, test, and maintain avionics software for aerospace applications.Develop software in accordance with DO-178 processes and certification requirements.Collaborate with systems, hardware, and test engineering teams throughout the development lifecycle.Participate in software architecture, design reviews, code reviews, and verification activities.Troubleshoot and resolve software defects while supporting system integration efforts.Create and maintain technical documentation to support software development and certification.Ensure software meets performance, reliability, and safety requirements.Required QualificationsBachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Systems Engineering, Mathematics, or equivalent software development experience.Experience developing avionics software in accordance with DO-178 standards.Proficiency in C and/or C++ programming.Experience with Flight Controls or Flight Management Systems (FMS).Strong understanding of software development lifecycle and engineering best practices.Preferred QualificationsExperience developing embedded software.Familiarity with real-time operating systems (RTOS) and embedded hardware.Experience working within regulated aerospace or defense environments.Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a collaborative engineering environment.Export Compliance RequirementDue to compliance with U.S. export control laws and regulations, applicants must be a U.S. Person, defined as a U.S. citizen, U.S. permanent resident, or an individual with protected status under U.S. asylum or refugee laws, or otherwise be eligible to obtain the required export authorization.Compensation & BenefitsCompetitive salary: $75,000 – $145,000, depending on experience.Hybrid work schedule (3 days onsite per week).Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance.401(k) with company match.Paid time off and company holidays.Opportunities for professional development and career growth within a leading aerospace engineering environment.If you're passionate about developing mission-critical software for advanced aerospace systems and want to be part of an innovative engineering team, we'd love to hear from you.
