Department: Aircraft Maintenance ServicesRole Overview: Airbus A318 / A319 / A320 / A321 (CEO & NEO) – CFM56 & LEAP-1A Powered AircraftThe B2 Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (AME) is responsible for carrying out, supervising, troubleshooting, certifying, and releasing avionics and electrical maintenance activities on Airbus A318/A319/A320/A321 aircraft equipped with CFM56 and LEAP-1A engines in accordance with DGCA regulations, CAR-145 requirements, approved maintenance data, and company procedures.The incumbent shall exercise certification privileges under the scope of the DGCA B2 AME License and company authorization, ensuring aircraft airworthiness, safety, reliability, and compliance with operational and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Certification ResponsibilitiesPerform and certify avionics and electrical maintenance activities within the scope of company authorization.Issue Certificates of Release to Service (CRS) for avionics and electrical maintenance tasks completed under approved procedures.Verify maintenance actions have been correctly performed before certification.Ensure compliance with CAR-145 requirements and approved technical data.Aircraft Avionics MaintenanceCarry out scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on aircraft avionics systems.Perform inspections, functional tests, operational checks, troubleshooting, and defect rectification.Accomplish maintenance tasks as specified in approved maintenance programs and work packages.Ensure proper operation of aircraft electrical and electronic systems.Line Maintenance ActivitiesConduct Transit Checks, Daily Checks, Weekly Checks, and service checks.Rectify avionics and electrical defects reported by flight crew and maintenance personnel.Support aircraft dispatch reliability and operational availability.Attend Aircraft-on-Ground (AOG) situations and provide troubleshooting support.Troubleshooting & Fault IsolationDiagnose and rectify electrical and avionics system defects.Utilize:Fault Isolation Manual (FIM)Aircraft Maintenance Manual (AMM)Wiring Diagram Manual (WDM)Troubleshooting Manual (TSM)Aircraft Systems ReportsIdentify recurrent defects and recommend corrective actions.Coordinate with Technical Services and OEMs where engineering support is required.Airworthiness & Regulatory ComplianceEnsure compliance with:DGCA CAR-145 RequirementsAirworthiness Directives (ADs)Service Bulletins (SBs)Airbus Technical DocumentationAircraft Maintenance ProgramsCustomer Technical InstructionsReport safety-related and airworthiness-related observations through established reporting channels.Safety & Quality ResponsibilitiesAdhere to Safety Management System (SMS) requirements.Follow Human Factors principles during maintenance activities.Participate in safety reporting, investigations, and corrective action programs.Comply with Quality Assurance procedures and audit requirements.Promote a strong safety and quality culture within the workplace.Documentation & Record KeepingAccurately complete maintenance documentation and work cards.Record troubleshooting activities and corrective actions.Ensure defect rectification records are complete and traceable.Support Technical Records in timely closure of maintenance documentation.Maintain compliance with documentation requirements under CAR-145.Leadership & Team SupportSupervise Aircraft Technicians and Avionics Technicians.Provide on-job training and technical guidance.Support competency development and authorization programs.Assist junior staff in troubleshooting and maintenance practices.
