Requirements STEM degree from a top University4+ years of experience as a software engineer with a hands-on backend focus, comfortable with full- stack execution and passionate about buildingTrack record of owning backend projects end-to-end.Current/recent role is at a high growth, A-tier VC-backed, AI-forward startup.Actively using Claude Code in daily work and experiencing 10X+ gains in productivityMust be in-office 5 days/week in South Park, SFWhat you'll do: Build and operate production-grade backend services and distributed systems on AWS or GCP.Design data storage and retrieval using a mix of vector, OLAP, SQL, NoSQL, cache, and search systems.Implement and run observability practices including monitoring, logging, tracing, and alerting to maintain system health.Design and implement comprehensive test harnesses that cover deployment and runtime failure scenarios.Own backend projects end-to-end, including complex feature development, CI/CD + Terraform, stability, and security.Tech stackClaude Code, AWS, GCP, OLAP, SQL, NoSQL, CI/CD, Terraform
