This person will help shape the architecture of the core service layer, scale APIs and backend systems, and remain hands-on in production code.This is a strong fit for an engineer who has worked in environments where performance, reliability, security, and global scale all matter — and who is comfortable making technical decisions without layers of process around them.What You’ll Work OnArchitect and build backend services supporting a multi-tenant platformDesign and evolve APIs and core service-layer architectureBuild production backend systems primarily in GoImprove scalability, reliability, security, and performance across distributed servicesDesign data and database solutions for high-volume applicationsWork with cloud infrastructure and globally distributed content deliveryOptimize application behavior across CDNs and geographically distributed usersReview code, troubleshoot production issues, and improve existing systemsHelp establish technical patterns and influence architectural decisions as the platform growsMove comfortably between architecture/design discussions and hands-on implementationWhat We’re Looking For7+ years of backend or web-services engineering experienceStrong production development experience with Golang preferredEngineers with substantial Python backend experience may also be consideredStrong understanding of databases, data modeling, and backend data access patternsExperience designing distributed, highly available, cloud-based systemsHands-on experience with AWS, GCP, Azure, or comparable cloud environmentsStrong API design and service architecture experienceUnderstanding of web application architecture and securityExperience working with CDNs, including performance optimization and global delivery considerationsExperience with containers and modern production deployment environmentsAbility to reason through complex engineering problems independently and write production-quality codeWe’re interested in engineers who have operated in growth-stage, or similarly high-ownership environments.You should be comfortable entering an existing codebase, understanding the architecture quickly, challenging assumptions when appropriate, and gradually taking ownership of increasingly complex technical problems.AI-assisted development tools are part of modern engineering, but strong fundamentals matter here. You should be able to design, reason, debug, and code independently, while using AI tools selectively to accelerate your work rather than substitute for engineering judgment.This is an opportunity for someone who wants meaningful technical ownership and a voice in how a growing platform is architected and scaled.
