Backend Developer Contract

Role & ResponsibilitiesDesign, develop, and maintain scalable, reliable backend services and APIs with a focus on performance, security, and maintainability.Architect and implement distributed systems and microservices for business-critical, high-volume applications.Collaborate with Product Owners, Front-End Engineers, UI/UX Designers, QA Engineers, and other stakeholders to deliver technical solutions.Design and optimize RESTful APIs, event-driven services, and pub/sub messaging systems for seamless integration.Monitor system performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement tuning and scalability improvements.Design and optimize database schemas, queries, and data models for relational and NoSQL databases.Create and maintain technical documentation, including architecture, design, API, testing, and deployment details.Troubleshoot production issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement fixes to improve stability and reliability.Participate in code reviews and promote best practices, clean code, automated testing, and coding standards.Contribute across the full software development lifecycle, from design and development to testing, deployment, and monitoring.Support production releases, incident resolution, and continuous delivery efforts with cross-functional teams.Evaluate and adopt new technologies, tools, and engineering practices to improve efficiency and platform capabilities.RequirementsBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Informatics Engineering, or a related fieldAt least 2 years of experience in end-to-end software developmentExperience designing and building distributed, scalable, and reliable backend systemsStrong proficiency in at least one object-oriented programming language, with experience in Rust, C++, or Spring Boot (Java/Groovy)Experience with relational databases (PostgreSQL/MySQL) and NoSQL technologies (Redis, Elasticsearch, or Cassandra)Solid debugging, troubleshooting, and software design skillsFamiliarity with Git, REST APIs, and pub/sub architectureExperience in financial services, capital markets, trading systems, or other high-availability environments is a plus.Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively in cross-functional Agile teams.
