Backend Engineer Permanent - Excellent Salary + BenefitsDublin, HybridMy client a multinational organisation is on the lookout for a Backend Engineer on a permanent basis in Dublin The Job: Build and maintain scalable backend services in Python for IoT devices and mobile applications across multiple serverless microservicesDevelop and support cloud-native solutions using AWS Lambda and infrastructure-as-code practicesContribute throughout the full application lifecycle, from architecture and implementation to deployment and monitoringDeliver integrations with external partner platforms and third-party servicesParticipate in a rotating on-call support schedule for platform operationsKeep current with emerging technologies, tools, and backend engineering best practicesHave You:3+ years of experience building backend services in PythonStrong understanding of event-driven architectures, including messaging and asynchronous processing patternsHands-on production experience with AWS Lambda and infrastructure-as-code toolingExperience with observability tooling, including structured logging and distributed tracingUsed AI-assisted development tools to improve coding, debugging, testing, and operational workflowsStrong communication skills in English with both technical and non-technical stakeholdersExperience with modern Python tooling and frameworks such as Pydantic, ORM/migration tools, NoSQL databases, caching systems, or search platformsFamiliarity with automated testing approaches and AWS service mockingExperience working with IoT platforms or connected-device ecosystemsRelevant degree or equivalent industry experience Berkley Business & Technology is a specialist consultancy, recruiting professionals for organizations throughout Ireland, UK & Europe; for more information go to www.berkley-group.com.
