Backend Engineer

About the RoleWe're looking for a Backend Engineer to join an early-stage team and help build the core of our product. You'll work alongside a Senior Backend Engineer and co-founders, contributing to features and systems that will scale with the business. This is a hands-on role with real ownership and room to grow.What You'll DoBuild and maintain backend services, APIs, and data layersContribute to architecture and technical decisions alongside senior engineersCollaborate with frontend and product to ship features end-to-endWrite clean, well-tested code and participate actively in code reviewsTake ownership of reliability and performance within your areasWhat We're Looking For3–5 years of backend engineering experience in production environmentsSolid proficiency in Node.js; exposure to Python is welcomeExperience with MySQL and Redis in production environmentsSolid understanding of REST API designFamiliarity with AWS and cloud-based deploymentsExperience with Docker, AWS ECS, and CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions or similar)Comfort working in ambiguous, fast-moving environmentsFullstack familiarity is a plusWhy JoinGrow alongside a senior engineer and directly influence how the product is builtHigh ownership in a small team where your work ships fast and mattersA team that values craft, directness, and getting things done
